After realizing I just posted something that looks like hoarders I decided that this new and improved home makeover needed to be posted fast. I am so happy that it didn't take very long to unpack. We still have yet to get the pictures on the walls, but I want to make sure we do it right. It looks like I didn't take pictures of every room, but I promise there aren't any more boxes. It feels great.

Once I get the paintings/pictures up on the wall maybe I'll post more. It looks exactly like our old place, just not. I got more pots from grandpa and there is a lot more light.

So Long: Did we move?

We moved our life down to Fort Worth on Memorial Day. It was fairly traumatizing for me (hence the pictures). It is over for now, but not for long. 

For any of you who have moved, you know it is a pain. I took the opportunity during our first married move to get rid of many things that I don't want or need. This past weekend (more than a month ago) we left our home (for the first three years of marriage); we packed up the truck and headed to TX. It really is a shocker that we are finally going on this journey. 

I'm pretty proud of my documentation abilities. This picture taking never happens when it is supposed to and it looks like I was fairly successful. We will have more moving posts in August when we get settled in Houston. Thanks to all our help and specifically R**** who made the 20 hour drive with us. So much for trying to stay "off the grid."

Colder Air

Monday we put in our air conditioner thing. It is awesome to have some relief from the heat when I get home from work and while making dinner. Thanks to our wonderful friends the Jacksons for giving it to us last fall. 

Home Improvements

oh, ho, oh, ho, ooooooh (that's supposed to be done like Tim Allen). SO, lately we've been getting some things done around the house!

We finally got a bookcase, put it together, and moved things around in the family room.

We also got new linoleum in the kitchen....

and bathroom.

Halie told me before we got married that she would never clean the bathroom. I thought she was kidding.

BUT, we've also been trying to set aside the time needed for STUDIES. Like Halie says, we all know that "reading is FUNdamental."

Our Apartment

This is Kendall laying on our lovely bed. We just got the new night stands and lights the other day. It adds a nice touch to our little room.

This table runner matched the bed, and it covered up some spots on the dresser. I really like the pattern. I think I am going to make some throw pillows out of place mats with the same pattern.

This is the futon and lamp we got courtesy of Alyssa at her moving sale. The couch makes the front room look more like a home rather than a box drop off. I really like the lamp too because we can put the pots on them.

The dinner table we got at IKEA and I love the color. We put a table cloth over it until I get place mats. It fits perfect in our little kitchen.

This is a pile of things that we still have to distribute to places in the house. The entertainment center is where Kendall imagines his TV. :) Those huge speakers are deceiving when you don't have a TV.

We love our little apartment, and slowly but surely things are coming together. Kendall is so sweet to do a lot of the cleaning because he gets home from work before I do. He has been great these past 3 WEEKS! We hope you enjoyed this tour of our little home.
