Homecoming at the Y!

Well, I wasn't anticipating doing something on my list so soon, but we were able to Hike the Y this weekend. The great thing was that it was homecoming weekend at BYU so the Y was lit up. It was great weather (not too hot and not too cold) and an all around good trip for (most likely) our last trip up there. We were able to go with Sean (Kendall's Bro), Troy (Friend from Texas), and Tia. Here are some of my favorite pictures.

BYU also won the Homecoming Football Game! We were not expecting the win, but it is always awesome when you win the homecoming game. We watched the game on TV but when we went outside we could hear everyone cheering in the stadium down the street.

P. S. It is time to celebrate because this is my 100th blog post!

What did we do this week?

Well, last Saturday we went to the natural water slide with Ryan. We also were able to check on Kendall's garden and get snow cones! I didn't get many pictures and I will update again when I get more from someone who took pictures.

Sunday we had dinner with tons of family at grandpa's house. Then we went to see Kendall's grandma. Kendall and I worked/shadowed all week. I'm tired of working (blah). Ryan was still in town and we tried hard to find things to do. We've been watching The Office on Netflix. We saw Letters to Juliet, which I wouldn't recommend unless you are planning to fall asleep.

On Thursday we were able to go visit our great friends in their new home! It was so fun to hang out with friends from the ward even though all but a few of us had moved out. We (not really me) played the Wii and it was pretty fun. On Saturday we were able to go to Stewart Falls with my Uncle Todd. It was a really fun hike. We ate at Pizza Pie Cafe and did fireworks at grandpa's. It was a fast/long week, but we did a lot of fun things that I can't exactly  remember.

We are finally relaxing and trying to get "something" done. Not really. I'm still feeling inadequate because I haven't completed much for school this summer. We'll see what I can do in the next few weeks. Last night we had FHE with a family in our ward. We went to a place called Sammy's in Provo. We got a shake with a piece of blackberry cheesecake in it. Awesome!

I am looking forward to when school starts again. Not really for school, but because I get to start a new job in the University Advisement Center. I'm excited to be advising again and especially doing something new.

I also love my new calling as the gospel doctrine teacher because I get to study the scriptures and ponder my life more than usual. It is quite nice.

Kendall is in the middle of the Optometry Application. I'm getting excited for the future. He is so good at what he does, and he loves doing optometry things.

For the most part, at this moment, I feel good.

Vacation: Warning, More Pictures than Normal

Last week we were able to visit California for some good family time. We did a ton and I tried to take pictures specifically so I could blog about the week. We got to spend a few days with my family and a few days with Kendall's family (two for one). It was great to spend some time with cousins/aunt/uncle/grandparents that we rarely get to see. On the 4th of July we went out to Dublin, CA. We had a BBQ and played in the yard.

On Monday we took a ride on the BART to San Francisco. We walked around and ate good food. It was good to walk a lot because if we didn't we probably would have gained 10 lbs. We saw the sea lions and China Town.

On Tuesday we walked around Lake Chabot and went to see the Oakland Temple. This was a nice break (on Monday night I was sick) and a light walk for my sore, sick self. One great thing about the lake was we say a lot of wildlife (turtles, geese, dead fish, vulture, dead snake, etc.)

It was great to see Kendall's parents on this trip too. They have done so much for us and we were so glad we could spend a couple of days with them so soon. We hope we can do it again!

Wednesday we were privileged enough to go to an A's game for Grandpa Dean's birthday. We had a good time at the game. I find baseball to be such a great social sport (you can always talk and watch the game). It was so fun to spend time with the family. Kendall's grandparents are such fun people to talk with.

On Thursday we headed back to Sacramento and hung out. I was able to to go a Activity Days activity with Emma and mom that night. Friday we went shopping and found a few things for me. I've been looking for jean shorts. We were able to see Holly and David for a bit too. Friday we also watched Avatar on Blue Ray at my parents house. I think they enjoyed the movie. The huge TV and surround sound help a lot.

On Saturday we bummed around until the afternoon. Then, we went to Old Sacramento and did a scavenger hunt. While we were there we saw jugglers and dad was called up to help them out. He just stood there, but it was fun to watch him on stage. We "ate" at Fats (onion rings). We also went to two wedding receptions.

I like this picture of my parents. Overall it was a great trip! We had such a fun time visiting with family. We love and miss them so much already. We were glad we got to take Ryan to Utah with us because we didn't have to leave the family completely.

I know this post was long and I probably should have drug it out into a few posts because it would looked cooler. It would have also given me something to do for the next few days. However, I will try to keep paying attention to the funny things that happen to us throughout the week. I will also try to post pictures of my new outfits.
