I have to admit...

We've been smitten with the wedding today.

What is it with the Royalty that is so intriguing?

The whole thing was so fun to watch.

The bride was stunning.

The dresses were gorgeous.

The English women in the hats were totally mesmerizing.

 We celebrated here at home with the Royals...

The girls and friends at the Herbal Tea Party.

We ate, swam, played games and of course, watched the wedding...

Way fun.

The Winner

Benton's First Pine Wood Derby

"The Hammerhead Shark"

Design, sanding and painting all completed by Benton.

Daddy helped with weights and wheels.

Benton had a winning car...

until someone accidentally dropped it and the back wheel broke off.

It was dropped just before the championship round.

The car wasn't repair-able.

Benton was crushed.

His eyes welled up with tears.

What I love most about this sad situation...

Benton was on the verge of falling apart.  

Without being coaxed, he pulled it together.

All on his own, he rose above his loss and cheered for the new winner.

A true victory.

Easter

Happy Easter.

Happy it was.

Spent the day at church and visiting family.

Put "tired to the bone" kids to bed.

One of those kind of days...

Preston got one of those chirping chicks in his basket.

He was/is terrified of it.

Regardless, his sisters found great humor in terrorizing him.

 Then finally, he found a chick of his liking.

Off to his happy place in someone's slippers to enjoy.

 No holiday would be complete without a picture on the "rock."

Preston's communication at 21 months.

blah da blah da blah APPLE!  :  I am hungry and want food.

blah da blah da blah BA BA!  :  I am thirsty and want something to drink.  (NOW!)

blah da blah da blah GO!  :  I am really mad at you and you better go away!  (With finger pointed)

blah da blah da blah SHOE ON!  :  I want my shoes on.  (We've got a kid with a shoe obsession...)

blah da blah da blah JUMP JUMP! :  I want to jump with the kids on the trampoline.

loud and low growls :  I am frustrated and want to do it myself!!!!  

(I want to put the car seat buckle on myself...)

HUG!  :  Arms outstretched and wants a hug.

Preston continues to call out everyone's name... but still won't attempt Max.

He discusses life's finest moments, as well as its let downs in non-stop, nonsense babble.

We carry conversation all day long.

While I can't decipher most of what he says, I understand it all.

Zoo.

Yesterday was the annual firm picnic at the zoo.

Always fun.

Everyone was leaning over trying to pet a sting ray.

Out of nowhere, two racing sting rays come zooming by flapping their wings.

The kids got soaked.

Max got freaked out.

I caught it on film.

I'm still giggling.

Obsessed.

Preston has gone crazy for Toy Story.

He loves Buzz, Woody, Evil Dr. Porkchop, the alien men and especially Bullseye.

He has the little play figures and carries them around everywhere.

If any of the movies come on, he is glued.
