Thanksgiving

This was the first year I have every had to cook Thanksgiving Dinner on my own.  I am usually at Mom’s and helping her but she jet setter off to Europe this year.  Brian and I pulled it off and we had a very nice and relaxing night.  We had Joanna and Phil with us which made it perfect.

Turkey Trot

The big fundraiser for Rady’ Children Hospital is a Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot.  I have spent many hours over the last year planning this and getting it off the ground.  All of the hard work was well worth it.  We made $25,000.00 to give back to the hospital.  The race sold out the week before Thanksgiving with 500 runners.  Next year it will be much bigger and raise more money.     The best part was everyone had a blast!!!

Avenue of Hero

Coronado has dedicated the two main streets on and off of the island as the “Avenue of Heros.”  They are dedicating them to the Men and Women who serve in our military.  On Veterans Day they had a ceremony and released a few of the banners that will hang along the corridors.  The Radical Rabbits got to perform some Patriotic songs.

Kids News Day

I am a member of the Rady’s Children Hospital Auxillary- Coronado Unit and every October we have a Kid’s Newsday.  The UT dedicated an entire section of the daily paper to the Hospital.  It is a fun way to get out in the community.  Alexis has been our star the last few days.  Who could say no to her!!!

Carving Pumpkins

One of my favorite times of the year is here… HALLOWEEN.  Carving pumpkins is the main attraction.  We had our annual pumpkin carving party at The Lemieux’s and had a blast.  Alexis went traditional and Connor was thinking out of the box.

Brians Swearing In Ceremony

The Wray household has had many big changes in the last few weeks.  I started a new job in Hematology/Oncology and Brian is switching over to Coronado PD.  We are both excited for the new changes but it is “chaotic” around here right now.  Brian was sworn in yesterday and it was a very nice ceremony.

Fire and Police Open House

One of our favorite yearly activities is the Firehouse/Police Open house.  They open both buildings to the public and the kids get to cruise around and see what it is all about.  They also have demonstration out in the street of a car accident, bike safety, Mercy Air lands and tons of other games and activities.  The kids love to do the rock wall and the jumpy “thing.”   This year was fun to see more of the Police Station since this is Brian’s new home away from home.

This is Alexis in the Jail at Coronado Police Department!!!

Every week each kid gets to be the “Radical Rabbit”.  They get to hold the flag for the pledge of Allegiance and they are the leader all week.  They also get to do a board presentation on themselves and their family.  Alexis did a great job!!

Patriotic Performance

To celebrate 9/11 Alexis’ class did a Patriotic Performance for us.  It always makes me cry when the kids sing these songs and signs them.  These little guys don’t understand what happened that day yet but they definitely made us all proud to be Americans.

As you may remember Connor had an amazing Kindergarten teacher and we are so lucky to have her again with Alexis.  They do lots of fun performances which I enjoy and so do the kids.  They always get to sing Patriotic songs at the final Concert in the Park.  Even Connor was asked to come back and sing.

Introducing Archie

Right after our guests left from the party we packed the car and headed up the coast to Gilroy.  Besides garlic there really isn’t much of a reason to go to Gilroy besides to pick up our new puppy.  We have been anticipating the arrival of this puppy for months.  We have been watching them on a Dropcam video and now we get to go pick one out. The litter consisted of 10 puppies.  Three girls and seven boys and we have first pick of the boys.  How exciting.  Here he is…..  introducing Archie!!!

Frozen Birthday Party

Alexis decided that she was going to have a Frozen party.  She invited a few of her girlfriends over and they all dressed up as different princesses.  Alexis dressed up as Anna from Frozen and she invited the “real” Elsa to come to her party.  The girls decorated tiaras to wear and then Elsa entertained them with singing, face painting, reading the story, magic and even blowing snow.  She had a blast.
