It's Open




If someone says the words "It's Open" at our house, us dogs bark like crazy and try to look out the front window to see if someone is at the door.

Grandma teased us several times this evening using that catch phrase.  

A couple times we were "asleep" and then we heard the catch phrase; so we jumped up immediately and started barking.

Thank dog Mommy didnt record our barking on video.

I cant believe Mommy teased us too and used the catch phrase.  (If Mommy and Grandma end up on Santa Paws naughty list--now u know why!)

    OMD they sound like MY Mom! My Mom often DELIBERATELY says and does things that she KNOWS will make me bark....then I bark and when Mom is done laughing, and I am still barking...she gets upset! The nerve of her! Barks and licks and love, Dakota

      "Its open" means....door is unlocked when we are expecting company. Usually people show up whenever we hear that phrase.

    We can have the same fun by quietly saying the word 'woof' at our place. Penny rushes to the door, embarrassed not to have realised someone was coming, and then she's amazed that the pretend visitors have vanished.

    Geeze...we thought we were unique over here! Our words are: "Better LOOK!" and she runs to see what's outside. Barks too, just for good measure whether or not there's anything to see.

    I love when we adopt funny traditions with our dogs! Whenever I say "Bye" Cody comes running over because he thinks I'm leaving!
