Post-Christmas Post

We had a very nice Christmas.

We got treats and an Egg Nog shaped toy!

Mommy sister gave Mommy.... a Sheltie Ornament fur the tree, and 2 dog bone ornaments with our names on them.

Mommy's niece and nephew gave Mommy... a dog bone shaped dog-treat jar, and a Dachshund pen.

Mommy's friend gave Mommy a button that says... I rescue Shelties, what's your super power!

We didn't take pictures of all the stuff yet.  We will have to post those pictures next time.

Lassie and Benji with some treats from Christmas!

Can you believe we took our Christmas Card photos BEFORE Halloween because Mommy wanted to print our cards and use a coupon that was expiring at the end of October.

Mommy did her best to try to make the background all the same color in the above picture since this was the only picture she got of us both together on the sofa (but the sofa cover was all messy)...

So, instead of using the picture of us above... we used the 2 pictures of us below on our Christmas Card.

Here are our close-ups!

Have a wonderful New Year!

Christmas Elf & Card Count

This year we have been especially watching our "Elf on the Shelf" moving around to different spots everyday since Thanksgiving.

We should have taken pictures of everyday... but here are a few...

Here is our Elf sitting on the mantle with one of Grandma's Nylon Stockings.   (See, Mommy's nephew asked Mommy -- when are you going to hang the Stockings up for Christmas?  Well, Mommy jokingly decided to tape one of Grandma's nylon stockings to the shelf and  told her nephew -- All done the "Stocking" is hung by the Chimney with care!

Everyone had a good laugh... Grandma even said... "Well at least Santa's got somewhere to put MY present!"

The Elf got in on the joke too, and the next morning we found the "Elf on the Shelf" with his leg in the Nylon Stocking!

Here is the Elf sitting in a Flower Arrangement on the Mantle looking at our $16.99 eleven year old Christmas tree.

The Elf hanging from the Cuckoo clock.  (The clock doesn't keep time right -- so, it's basically just a wall decoration.)

My Barkday

My (Lassie's) 5th Barkday was on Friday, December 12.

Here is a picture of me posing with the bag of treats that Mommy's sister's family got me.  Benji was totally eyeing up my treats, and since I am such a nice brother, I let Benji have some. (Butt he can only  have some just today, starting tomorrow -- these treats are all mine!)

Here is a selfie picture of me with Mommy on my barkday.  Mommy was laying on the floor with me, and giving me tons of barkday snuggles!

I played some "old fashioned" Nintendo 64 with Mommy's nephew. We played a racing game. (It's a good thing Benji is the Blogville Ambulance driver and not me, because, when I played the racing game, I was flying over obstacles and banging the Minivan all over the place.  I think I even knocked down a tree in the game.)

Now here is when Mommy let me open my present.  Remember I said she ordered it from Chewy.com and the box came like 87 days ago --- well it was finally the moment to see what I got.

I hit the jackpot!  She got me 4 bags of these apple bacon fruitables from Chewy.com.

I once got these treats before when Mommy got Barkbox thanks to our friend Finn.

I loved these treats so much.

Mommy looks in the stores every once in a while butt never sees these particular treats.  So, fur my barkday, she made it a point to look on Chewy.com to see if they sell them there - and she bought not 1 bag -- butt 4.

I have the best Mommy!

Hope everyone has a pawsome week.   We have been busy with decorating and cleaning fur Christmas, butt we promise to get around to visiting everyone's blogs soon.

A post with no pictures.

Mommy is LAZY.   She is supposed to help us write our post via a computer, butt she is lazy couch potato and is writing this via her phone.   She was supposed to post the picture of us with our cousin dog from Thanksgiving which was 87 days ago... Butt no...she is too lazy to figure out how to post our picture via the phone.

Then, she was supposed to show a picture of our Christmas tree,   She put the beads vertically on the tree and the tree is looking sorta Charlie Brownish... Butt of course No Picture to share with you.

We have a bunch of Christmas cards in already from the Blogville Christmas card exchange.  I would have liked to shown a picture of them, butt blame our Mommy fur the lack if picture.

Now this week is my , Lassie, 5th Barkday.  It is on Friday.  Mommy already ordered my present from Chewy.com and the box is sitting high on the shelf.  It came super fast in the mail and she wont let me open it until my Barkday.  Lets see what the math is... It came on December 5th and my birthday is December 12.  So 12 minus 5 is 87 days of having to wait to open my present.    I would show u a picture of my box on the shelf butt, u guessed it, Lazy Mommy strikes again.

Thanks fur reading our picture-less post.

Have a super fabulous week and make sure to eat extra treats on Friday in celebration of my Birthday.

Happy Thank Blogville Day

We are posting a little early, butt we wanted to make sure we wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and a Happy Thank Blogville Day.

We thank Blogville fur being there fur us and fur Mommy.  We turn to Blogville countless times when we need a smile!  We love Blogville fur writing us kind and fun comments!  We don't have many followers, butt you know what they say --- it's quality, not quantity that matters.  We love our Blogville friends, you've been with us thru thick and thin, and we wouldn't trade you guys fur 87 million cookies!

Now, as you know we are Blogville's Dogtors. (Lassie is Dogtor and Benji is EMT/Ambulance Driver.)  We completed a full year term as of November 22nd!  Woo Hoo!   And we signed on fur another year of Blogville Dogtor adventures.

Look at my plaque hanging in the Blogville Ambulance.  I am so thankful Blogville nominated me as "Blogville's Top Dogtor of the Year."  (Maybe because I'm Blogville's only Dogtor.)

Every month I, Dr. Lassiter, was chosen Blogville's Top Dogtor!  I am so honored!

As you know in the past year we Spiffed up the Blogville Ambulance, we pawticipated in a Parade, and we wrote a couple of Dogtor Journals and today... we are sharing our newest issue of the Dogtor Journal with you.

Our newest issue of the Dogtor Journal has "Happy Thank Blogville" theme written all over it.

The subject of our Journal is...."You Make Me Smile".

This is what the Journal says...

You Make Me Smile

It’s us Dogtor’s One Year Anniversary of serving Blogville. To celebrate, I, Dogtor Lassiter went to a convention at the Vets office.  I learned about teeth at the convention.  I learned you need to take care of your teeth so you have a nice smile!

Dogtor Journal #3 - You Make Me Smile, Take care of your teeth!

Blurry picture of a Dog's Teeth Chart hanging on the wall at the "Convention."

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Those aliens better stop messing up my yard!

Look at this big mess in the yard.  The leaves keep multiplying like crazy!
I, Lassie, totally think aliens are to blame for these multiplying leaves taking over MY yard.

Someone has got a lot of cleaning to do!

Oh my dog, I don't know if you can see it, but one of the leaves attacked Benji and is stuck to his chest furs.  Those aliens are gonna pay fur this mess they made with the leaves!

Speaking of Benji, in our last post, Benji debated on whether or not to jump on the chair.

Of course Benji jumped on the chair!  We totally liked everyones comments!   And don't worry, Benji is a pawfessional athlete when it comes to this chair.  It's like his own merry-go-round.

I, Lassie, on the other paw, am not crazy enough to jump on a chair that spins!

We think Benji might get his crazy chair spinning talent from our Mommy.  When she was a child she loved a toy called the "Sit and spin",  guess we should have googled it to find a picture of it.   It was basically a plastic circle and a plastic steering wheel and ages ago when Mommy was a kid she sat on the base and spun herself around in a circle.

Have a great week everyone!

Raining Cats and Dogs

The weatherman said on Saturday it was going to be windy with a slight mist in the air.

They totally got it wrong it rained heavy ALL DAY LONG and it was very windy.

Mommy said it was raining cats and dogs.

We were on high alert when Mommy said that!

Here are the 2 pictures she snapped at the right moments when she said "Cat" and "Dog".

Did Mommy say cat!  Where! In the yard!

Mommy said dog!  Are you teasing us, Mommy!  We don't see/hear any cats or dogs.

Scaredy Cat?

Do you remember when our Spooky Story was posted on our blog friend Bacon's Blog on his 31 Days of Spook.  (Our Spooky Story Post)

Anyway, Mommy saw a Halloween Decoration as part of Bacon's 31 Days of Spook that she just had to try.  (Halloween Decoration Post)

She used an empty milk container and drew on it to look like a ghost....

Then she added a nose...

Then some ears...

Then some whiskers?

She ended up making a scaredy cat ghost!  (She even drew a striped tail on the back!)

Benji and I want nothing to do with this ghost cat.

It is banished outside and is sitting on the outdoor night light that lights up our walkway. (She cut out the bottom of the milk container to slide it over the outdoor light.)

I bet that Scaredy Cat will frighten the two-legged Trick or Treaters away!

Hope you aren't too scared of the Scaredy Cat Ghost!

Lassie and Benji

P.S.  Mommy gets so excited to see it light up at night on those solar lights.  She is a big kid at heart!

P.P.S.  Can you believe Grandma said Mommy should make another one for the other light!   Are you serious Grandma!

Spooky Story & Lovely Blog Award

We submitted a spooky story for Bacon the Pig's blog, and it is posted on his "31 Days of Spook" series on his blog (I think it is scheduled fur today, October 7, 2014).  If you want to read our spooky story -- then visit Bacon's blog at  http://piglove.wordpress.com

This is a picture of the cloth curtains that were involved in the spooky story.

In other news...

We want to thank our Blog Friend Helen for giving us the Lovely Blog award!  (We had a version of the Lovely Blog Award before -- butt a dog can never have too many awards.  Am I right or what!)

We are supposed to write bunch of facts about ourselves... butt we are having trouble thinking of them.

So here goes...

1.  I (Lassie) have my dew claw toenail things.

2. Benji does not have the dew claw toenail things.

3.  Mommy's secret talent is....Mommy can burp really really long.  She can almost say the entire alphabet in one burp.  Mommy only burps at home and it's not often!  Thank dog, because it's not very polite to burp!    (Mommy will NOT take a video of her secret talent.)

We don't think anything can top that -- so we will have to end our fact list at 3.  (We are still keeping the award though!)

If anyone wants to the Lovely Blog Award -- feel free to say I nominated you.

Have a great day everyone.

Lassie and Benji

P.S.  We tried to pawticipate in Angel Jazzi's Taco Day on Saturday October 4th -- butt all we could get out of the Mommy was a rolled up slice of bologna in a piece of bread.  I would hardly call that a taco!  Butt we will take what we can get!

Big Foot is in da house!

Mommy has a foot ouchie!

Good thing fur Mommy she is living in the Blogville Dogtor's Residence!  Did I mention I (Dr. Lassie) am the most handsome make-pretend Dogtor in all of Blogville!

I examined her foot ouchie and determined she needs a bigger shoe because her foot hurts and is swollen (it's swollen like 87 times bigger than my ego!)

I demonstrated to Mommy, she needs to keep her ouchie foot elevated like this....

In the meantime, I sent EMT/Ambulance Driver Benji off on a mission to find a bigger shoe fur Mommy!

Benji drove the Blogville Ambulance day and night with the sirens blaring until Benji arrived at his destination...!

Do you know who's house that is?

Look who Benji went to see to get a bigger shoe....

http://youtu.be/891XuTSjqaM

Benji got Herman (Munster)'s shoe and brought it back home fur Mommy.

Do you see the size of that shoe!

Just to make sure it was actually Herman's shoe -- I decided to sniff it!

Gag, Gag, Cough...Gasping for air!  Yap, I think it is Herman's shoe!   (It's actually a brand new ortho shoe from the doctor that Mommy went to see.)

I am making Mommy wear the shoe for about a week, I guess, until the swelling goes down.

Glad we could be of service to our Mommy!

Mommy, your bill is in the mail -- I know where you live!

Sincerely,
Dogtor Lassie and EMT Benji

Thinking outside the box

Thanks everyone for the comments on yesterday's post about the hula hoop horse.

Mommy thought there were a lot of great ideas in the comments.

Here is the revised horse using a box instead of the hula hoop.

And the horse doesn't tip forward anymore thanks to the suggestion of a heavier tail!

Maybe a cheap material would look nicer than the blue colored paper...Mommy has to think more about the material idea.

Not sure if Mario enjoyed the horseback ride.  He didn't even blink!

Thanks again everyone fur your help!

Just Horsing Around

Sorry we have been MISSING from our Blog lately, we've been horsing around. (literally)

Mommy tried to make two horses and failed miserably. Mommy is trying to make a horse costume that 2 knights are supposed to ride in a jousting scene.

Anyway, Mommy thought she would play around with trying to make a horse, since others are stumped too on trying to figure out how to make a horse -- but she just can't get the logistics figured out.

She made a 2-sided cardboard head and hot glued yarn for the hair.

Then she duct-taped it to a hula hoop. And now she can't get the hula hoop to stay on the person.

She tried using ribbons to form a suspender but the horse head is too front heavy, and the hula hoop keeps tilting down.

So, Mommy gave up on the project.

So, why talk about it on this blog post...

Because...

Benji thought it was actually a horse! And barked at it in a stranger danger attack mode!

After Mommy hot glued and taped the head onto the hula hoop, and she moved the hula hoop -- Benji started barking at the horse head because the yarn was flopping around like real animal hair.   Mommy, laughed at Benji for thinking it was a real horse -- but Benji didn't think it was funny.    Then when she turned the hula hoop around to glue and duct tape the tail on the back of the hula hoop -- Benji started barking at it again.   So, now Mommy has to be extra careful moving the hula hoop because Benji is on alert mode everytime he sees the horse head hair start flopping around.

Benji keeping his distance from the white horse!

Me (Lassie) saying -- get that thing away from me!

The black horse on the hula hoop that Benji is ready to attack everytime the yarn hair flops around.

Have a great day everyone.  Hope no hula hoop horses come galloping into your homes.  (They are freaky!)

A song, some presents, and Tee Time

Us dogs decided to sing along (yap along) to a tune Mommy was singing.

The song is titled "I got 2 Shelties; Yap Yap, I got 2 Shelties."

http://youtu.be/13eLDzRhIhU

-----------------------------------

Here are some pictures of presents our Aunt, I mean, our super wonderful, truly fangtastic, most pawsome Aunt in the World got us last week fur Dog Day.  Its a Sheltie on Board Magnet, and a box of treats, and there were 2 cookies, butt we ate the cookies in record timing.

Benji got his foot on the box!

----------------------------------

And a few days ago, Benji tried his paw at miniature golf in our hallway in the house! (Mommy was playing golf with her nephew and we watched them play.)

Lassie looking to see if Benji got the Golf ball in the hole!   Yap, hole in one!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Grandma called Benji what???

Grandma accidentally called Benji by the name "Bill" today.    Mommy was paying bills this morning and Benji jumped up on the sofa next to Mommy and the pile of bills.  So, Grandma wanted Ben to jump off the sofa.  So she said... Bill, come here Bill.

Benji hesistated...he was like...is Grandma talking to me?

It was so funny and even Grandma had a good laugh when she realized she called him by the wrong name.

Now Mommy's got that School House Rock song stuck in her head.   I'm just a Bill. http://youtu.be/tyeJ55o3El0

Gee, wonder if Benji was a Bill sitting in committee, what kind of law would Benji want to be.   I know how about a 3 treat minimum per day law.

So MAD at the BUNNY!

I (Lassiter Chase the Sheltie) am so MAD at the Bunny Rabbit that has been visiting my property!

I go out in the back yard to do surveillance, and low and behold I start barking at the "bunny".  I smelled a bunny and saw a brown bunny shape in the grass. So, naturally I start barking and chasing it because I thought that was the bunny!

However it was only a "decoy bunny" that I was barking at.  Not sure if you can tell but in the picture, there are a few leaves that are in a "bunny formation".  There are 2 leaves sticking up like bunny's ears, and the rest of the leaves formed the bunny's body.

However, when I was busy barking at the decoy bunny, the real bunny got away!  Yap, the real bunny took off towards the front of the house, and I was not able to chase it since I was still perplexed by the Decoy Bunny.

Back Yard - Decoy Bunny

Front Yard- Real Bunny

The real bunny!

The Real Bunny said...Silly Shelties, Rabbits are for Tricks!

We say... Silly Rabbit, Trix are fur kids!

Don't worry bunny -- we are on to your leaf tricks!  We won't fall for the Decoy Bunny next time!
