4 Miles

I ran like the wind this morning!! I ran longer (maybe not faster, but longer) than I have in a while... THANKS PAIGE FOR YOUR COMMENT ON MONDAY!! I needed it. I needed myself to think "I am getting faster."  :o)  I kept about a 11.4 min mile!! Besides all my strange dreams... I think I'm ready for this relay. It's suppose to be BEAUTIFUL! 60's for the whole weekend!! YEEHOO!!

9.7 Miles

WHEW!! Why does the wind only blow while I'm running up hill?!? It sure cools you down. (brrrr) My goal was to do 10 miles in 2 hours... well I almost made it. It felt good to be outside. :o)

7 Miles

I don't like the treadmill. I feel like a hamster! It was hard to just keep myself going. Maybe if I had something to watch instead of looking around my VERY messy sewing room. My neck is still killing me... I need a chiropractor or something. Only 6 more days until the relay. I'm really excited. The weather is suppose to be beautiful. Now, I need to squeeze in some runs outside before next Saturday.

LAKE TO LAKE RELAY

I'm so excited for this! Our team name: "OFF LIKE A PROM DRESS". Poor Ron (our token male again) is going to rough it with us ladies again. :o) We printed out the legs and choose which ones we wanted... the titles and descriptions were the best part...
1- Gunlock and Loaded
2- Red Rock n' Roll
3- Navigators Nightmare... "Some spectacular mountain ranges and background to check out when you're not making a left hand turn."
4- Dixie Stampede
5- Man O Warrior
6- Trails, Trails, and Lama Tails
7- Washington Fields Forever... "Kick back and smell the farmland"
8- That Washington Dam Hill
9- The Dirty Climber... "Just some spectacular mountain scenery, you'll feel like one with nature if your not gasping for air on those hills!"
10- "Sand" Finale

Let's hope it's warm in St. Geroge!!

No running today. I hurt my neck and have NO desire to go out in the cold. Let's hope the treadmill looks good tomorrow afternoon. :o)

7.5 Miles

Well, I went out today... was planning on doing a "long" run... but I could only get myself to move for 7.5 miles.  I was slow and sluggish, and I walked a lot, but it felt good to get out in the sun (although I couldn't really feel it with the wind blowing). I took Nyquil last night and still feel really groggy. I got back from running and John's napping on the couch and I wish I could join him... zonked out in the sun. We've decided that we're going to join the local Recreation Center. I'm so ready to start going... the idea of running with no hills and no wind sounds HEAVENLY!!

4.7 Miles

Well, I almost got hit this morning. I was almost home and some guy was pulling out of his street... I had a headlamp on and I thought we made eye contact because he looked at me and STOPPED. I gave a wave and started to run across the street, just as I got in front of him he decided to go. Good thing he didn't take off, so I smacked the front of his car... the look on his face told me he didn't really see me. GREAT!! So I ran almost 5 miles with a headlamp on my head (not very comfortable) just so someone would hit me .25 miles from home. I think the old guy may have had to go home and change his pants though.  ;o)

So, the alarm went off and I had the normal conversation with myself...
**5:21 ALARM**
Really? Didn't John just stop snoring?
GET UP!!
I just fell asleep... I don't want to get up!  I'm getting a cold and I'm tired!!
YOU ONLY HAVE A 15 DAYS TO BE READY!
I'll run tomorrow.
JUST DO IT YOU BIG BABY... GET UP
Fine... I guess I'll run to Smith's for some Zicam.

So, I did... it was lovely... snowing a bit... and I ran the whole way to Smith's. NO WALKING!! YEA!! I went 4.7 miles and kept about a 11.3 min mile!! That's pretty good for me!!

5 Miles

It's amazing how sweaty you can get when it's only 36* outside... who knew.  :o)  It sure was nice... getting up and going. I did pretty good this morning. I kept about an 11.5 min pace... I was happy it was under 12!! I'll need to get faster though if I'm wanting to beat my time in June. GO! GO! GO!

3 Miles

I had good intentions of going out at 5:30 this morning... GOOD INTENTIONS I TELL YOU!!  The church meeting we had last night, lasted until 11:30... didn't fall asleep until 1:30... so needless to say, the alarm didn't get set. Gracen decided she didn't want to sleep in this morning (usually sleeps until 9:00) and came to snuggle at 7:15... Carson slept until 8:30. Why don't they decide to sleep in on the SAME DAY?!? Boo hoo for me... blah blah blah... at least I got to snuggle with my kids for a bit this morning.  :o) Carson went to pre-school and Gracen went swimming with a friend, so I hit the treadmill... not long or hard (lots of walking... I shouldn't have eaten lunch - BLECH!), but I got in 40 minutes. I have a Relay meeting today... I should probably shower before they get here.  :o)

5 Miles

DANG it's cold up here!! I miss the WARM SUN!!

I almost didn't make it out today. Gracen is off track for 3 weeks and that means entertaining kids all day. I decided last night to get up early, but I guess I changed my mind during the night, because the alarm didn't go off.  :o) So, after I realized that my alarm didn't go off, I thought I'd just hit the treadmill while Carson was at pre-school. While we were out running errands, one of Gracen's friends called and invited her to go to the Aquarium. YEA!! So I was able to run outside! Once again... IT'S SO COLD... but I did it.  :o) Not as fast as in St. George, but I got in 5 miles before I had to pick up Carson. The sun was shining, but there was so heat coming off of it. It was a beautiful day and I'm glad I got it in!

4.75 Miles

Oh the HEAVENLY sun shine of St. George!! I could have kept running... I went out Sunday morning and ran to the temple, then down to Dixie College, then up a few hills into some cute neighborhoods. The sun was SO warm... why is that? The sun up north doesn't seem to work this time of year.  :o)  John kept saying he wanted to go to the park with the kids, or do a hike or something with them, so I did cut my run short... not even an hour... about 50 minutes. I did make a stop at the local Urban Renewal store... did a little browsing, sweaty and all.  :o)

7 Miles

LOVELY!! Just lovely!! Thanks to Elisa for watching Carson I got in a good run. I even ran by the Elementary School and saw Gracen at recess (not on purpose though). She was slightly embarrassed by the way I looked. She kept looking me up and down.  That made me laugh... her friends thought it was cool that I ran "all the way to the school" and then I was going to "run all the way home". :o)  Made me feel pretty cool.
