Dinner Time Conversations

Jeremy to Claire: "Wow Claire you are starting to get more teeth, that is some good chewing."

(Upon closer inspection Jeremy points at Claire's mouth)
Jeremy to Claire: "You have some molars coming in Sister, lets see those chompers!"

(His fingers are now fully in her mouth checking out her new teeth)
Mom to Claire: "Do you feel like a puppy at the vet Claire?"

Claire turns to mom and says: "Woof woof."

Here Comes the Flood

We were in Declo on Monday so Benj and Jer could cut some poles. And as we say, when the boys are away the girls will play! Sadie brought her boys over to play in the water with Wes and Claire and they had a blast. We shouldn't have wasted the $5.99 on the pool when all they wanted to do was play in the water that was intended for flooding the yard! We just hope they don't come down with a bad case of giardia! We felt slightly bad that the boys were working their guts out while we played in the water, but we took plenty of pictures so they would feel like they were there with us!

Claire was happy to have the pool all to herself...almost.
I love her face when she gets splashed! I can't ever catch it with my camera so I am glad I get to witness it here!

Yummy! This is before the pool was infested with the flood water.
Wes loving the water!

You Fill Up My Senses...

Ahhh, the cool mountain air was fantastic! Our tent was a dream and the food was, as always, marvelous! We, along with my Parents and Brad and Katie, headed up to Smithfield canyon and enjoyed the fresh air, good food, and some much needed relaxing...I mean as much relaxation as a mother can have while making sure her daughter doesn't nose dive into a raging bonfire or touch the hot stoves, am I right ladies? I enjoyed eating grasshoppers (the cookies, I assure you) while watching Claire running around in the dirt, Jeremy fixed a gourmet dinner, and Claire hoarded as many rocks, sticks, and cookies as she could get her little hands on. It was perfect.

Here is what Claire enjoyed the best about the trip.

And her new chair that fit just right.

Tube Sock Ballerina

Wearing dad's socks has never been so fun! Claire put on Jer's socks and was prancing about the house in them. I think we might need to invest in a tutu and some tights, although this look really works for her.
The awesome "napping pig tail hair" really finishes off the ensemble.

In a Box With a Fox? I Do Not Like It Sam I Am...

We are going camping on Friday so we finally purchased our family tent! It sleeps eight which means an air mattress as well as a pack-and-play can fit easily into this luxury hotel tent. We even get separate rooms for our camping enjoyment! But as you can see, Claire would much rather sleep in the tent box...not as roomy, but she seemed to really like the fit.

Who knew our daughter was a contortionist?

She is trying so hard to fit!

She is checking out the spatial limits one more time before her next attempt.

Backing in...why didn't I think of that!
Okay, maybe the tent is a bit less claustrophobic!

Drip, Drip, Drop

Claire was helping Jer water the plants and I think she is a natural. Mostly she just wanted to stick her arms in the pail and play in the water rather than sprinkle our little plants, but she got the job done!
Watering plants is fun, BUT...
PLAYING in the water is better!!

Watering the plants is a hard job for a little girl! A little refreshment will do the trick for her parched situation!

This Little Light Of Mine

Claire Jane is a lover of the trampoline. She would jump, jump all day long if we would let her. I love to take pictures of her when she doing things she loves. You can just see she is in a state of pure enjoyment and it makes my heart so happy to see her experiencing things in life that bring her happiness...even something as little as jumping on the trampoline. This picture reminds me of all the joy that is in my life and that I need to relish in the simple moments that bring me happiness! My little family means the world to me and I feel so blessed to be a mother, a wife, and especially a daughter of God. Clairey is the best reminder I have of a Father in Heaven that loves me and that He is blessing me daily.

Working Hard or Hardly Working

And Honey and Pete are the winners of a brand spanking new patio! Okay, usually winners don't have to pay for and install their prizes, but it sure was lovely when it was done!
Before
After
Claire thought she was in heaven being able to run around all day outside helping the boys. She was immediately taken with the wriggling worms that lived in the sod dirt. Nice.
Honey wrangling the two littles. The look all serene and mild mannered, but don't let it fool you, they can be a handful!
Finally the cousins are back together!

Top 5 Reasons Claire loves her cousin Wes:
  • The shiny new popper he got for his birthday.
  • He shared his Trix with her in church
  • She had a friend to eat lunch with
  • His awesome mullet
  • Having a co-conspirator to remove all of Honey and Pete's valuables

"I haven't had anything yet, so how can I have some more of nothing?"

Your killing me Smalls! Claire had her first introduction to s'mores the other night and it was love at first bite! Up until now she has been in the minor leagues of mini marshmallows, and she thought she hit the mother load when she had the premium jet puffed marshmallows! It made me excited to get up in the mountains and enjoy my first fire roasted hot dog of the season! (Of course followed by some golden brown marshmallows sandwiched by some chocolate striped cookies!) Anyone up for a camp out?

I love that her little pinky finger is up...dainty little bug.

The Class of 2008 Wears Sunscreen

And the keynote speaker is....drum roll please....Jeremy Lamont Young! Jeremy gave a rocking awesome speech at the Bear River High School graduation ceremony this year. The kids were inspired, motivated, and moved to tears...okay, maybe they loved it because the total time of his speech was 4 minutes and 50 seconds. They were praising his name I tell you! The best part of the day was when we were assigned the chaperon spot from 10:00 until midnight at the celebration center. We got to ride the rides all night long. The SlingShot suicide seats have nothing on me (except for the fact that I did scream like a girl the whole time). And the only downside was that my go cart car was on the fritz...blasted #9.

Inspiring, yes?
Moved to tears, I tell you!

All My Friends Love a Low-Rider

When we were in Declo Livy took Claire on a sweet ride to Honey and Pete's house. It made me scared to imagine the driving horrors that are ahead of me! Claire was a tad nervous but once she saw that the radio worked her fears of Livy's jerky driving were history!

Let's Ride!
Livy and Claire were trying to decide which talk radio station they wanted to listen to. (The car only got AM stations...rip off, I know.)
Here they are! Go girls, go!

Memorial Weekend

I don't know what induced the blogging sabbatical that I have been taking but do not fret, it has come to an end. We had a great weekend in Declo spending times with family, visiting the cemetery, and four-wheeler rides. Plus, we had the added treat of playing with Meg (Clint we missed you!) while she was here for a wedding. Lucky us!

We are ready for church!
Meggie and Claire
We went to the "funny farm" to help with some chores for a neighbor and, shocker, Claire isn't fond of loud animals! It was kind of fun to hear her say all of her animal words and sounds though.
Okay....she did take a liking to the kitty.

And here is a picture of our splendid four wheeler ride! It was so much fun. I just love our little family.
