Valerie's Birthday

A belated post to my sister-in-law Valerie's Birthday. Happy Birthday my dear!! The big 2-4. Everyone thinks she is older than me but really she is 6 months younger. I wonder what that means??? huh??? Anyways- I made her this fabulous cake that was quite a bit of work so I hope you appreciate it!! It's a yellow cake layered with vanilla custard, strawberries, and chocolate buttercream frosting in the middle. Then more chocolate buttercream marbelized with a vanilla whipped cream on the top and chocolate covered strawberries around the base.. I "borrowed" the recipe from another blog and I am so appreciative because I have made it a few times and love it!! Happy Birthday Val! (P.S. I have your gift at our house, you can get it when we celebrate with my mom)

November 1 ( 2 weeks away)

I'm doing it again!! 2 weeks and the Christmas decorations go up!! I am what you would call a Christmas fanatic/freak and I am counting down the days. Christmas music will start playing on 99.9 in the evening soon and I am "going to work" on the inside of this house. In all my holiday cheer, I seem to have married the christmas grinch and he refuses to put up outside lights so whoever wants to help me is definitely invited. In all fairness he said he would put up one of those big huge snow globes in the front yard and I said, " No way!!" Any tips would be great as this will be my first time. I will probably wait a little longer to put the outside ones up. Hopefully it will cool down soon so it will feel like winter!

My mom was in Utah this week so I had her pick up some Stephen's Mint Chocolate Truffle hot chocolate that I can only find up there. I can't wait to start drinking it. yum yum!!

I will post pictures when it's all done. I encourage all of you to get in the spirit of the holidays as well. I feel like it takes so much energy to put it up so I might as well enjoy it for awhile, especially because there is always so much going on at that time. This is one thing I can check off the list. And I get in the holiday spirit and I love that. Anyone who wants to join me is more than welcome!! You know you want to, I won't judge you!

Being Goofy

Not much is new. October is a very busy month for me at work so Tj and I try to get out and do something when we get a chance. Tj and his friends are hooked on the never-ending pasta bowl at Olive Garden (which I am not a big fan of) so we went there the other night.




This picture makes me laugh. Tj looks cute and I look like a black girl with attitude! I feel like I am nodding my head in the "oh no you didn't" head bob. hahahah

Another funny picture. I'm not sure what we were doing. I think Tj was trying to get a little "hand-sy" and I pushed him away.

He was a little more successful this go around. I was trying to pull him away right as the picture was being taken.


Tj is so cute. I woke up this morning and had to go pee and when I unrolled the toilet paper this is what I found:

Are you kidding me???

Ok so Tj and I decided to go get a little treat and usually we go to DQ and get the banana cream pie shake but we didn't feel like driving that far so we just went to Sonic. I wanted a banana split and when TJ ordered it they asked if I wanted regular or junior size. i said junior size.... thinking I would save a few calories. I had no idea I would save 3/4 of the calories!!





As soon as they handed it to us Tj just started laughing uncontrollably. Why would they sell something sooooo small? What a rip off!
