O Christmas Tree

I saw this book advent idea on several blogs last year. You wrap 25 winter/Christmas books and number one is the Bible. I was surprised and yet not so surprised that I had 24 such books in my possession. My sweet mother-in-law cut all the numbers for me. The wrapping paper is terrible and horrible to wrap and not the cutest print in the world so I used the back of it and got rid of that roll! I am looking forward to doing this with the girls this year.

 Here is our tree:
Note: I have since fixed the cord issue even though it isn't in a spot where there is foot traffic. I am still trying to figure out the safest way to handle the tree this year since I am not using that baby gate- which I am still healing from that incident 2 weeks ago.

November with the toddler

M got these Disney princesses when in Houston last month and she adores them! What amazes me is her love for them when she has yet to watch but one of the movies.  Here she is matching each princess with the corresponding card from her Disney memory game. If you notice she made a mistake, but now she is beginning to self correct.

I hid these turkeys around her play room and when she found one she would say, "aha there you are little turkey!" This idea came from the blog Oopsey Daisy.

We did this shortly after Halloween when we were still talking and reading about pumpkins. M loves googly eyes.

We are working on the number 4. This idea also came from Oopsey Daisy. It was interesting showing M how to glue feathers on.

This idea comes from Pre-K pages where you cut out 4 things you will eat on Thanksgiving Day from grocery ads. She helped me write the number 4 and M has to color everything we do now which is ok by me!

This is strung on our fireplace. It says "I thank God," and those are the number 4 and M told me what she was thankful for and "we" wrote them on each of the cutouts. I got this idea from Raising Deep Roots.

She found the cascarones (sp?). Boy, those are messy!

M did this one several times where she glued the matching shape onto the pumpkin. This printable is from Nick Jr.

I tried to put fabric leaves in this Elefun game for her to catch, but they were too heavy. She did like catching the butterflies all the same!

Horton Hatches the Egg on audio book.

Collage picture with cutouts and fabric leaves:

I got this idea from Ramblings of a SAHM where you take a Q-tip and dab the paint to make it look like falling leaves.
 Here is the finished product:

I got this idea from the same blog post as the picture above. She colored a coffee filter with markers and then sprayed them with water to have the colors run together.

Our Halloween

A week before the 31st I found these window clings in the Target clearance. I liked them because they included Thanksgiving ones too, and M loved them because, to her, they are like stickers.

M liked the idea of carving a pumpkin, but her interest in taking out the seeds and "stringy stuff" faded fast.

We didn't carve a cute face into ours but put E inside of it.

E was a lot more cooperative in taking pictures than M that day

This is the best picture I could get because at least one of them is looking at the camera.

We took the girls to the Stockyards for their trick or treating experience. We stopped first at the petting zoo. I am glad that E and I stayed outside of this area because this would have scared me.
Now both girls are being uncooperative. Seriously all four shots I took had both E and M looking everywhere but the camera.

It was really neat watching M trick or treat at places like Riscky's barbecue.

She was a girl on a mission the whole night.
It was just not a good night to take pictures of my bumblebee.

The picture below is the stair at this neat old hotel where she went trick or treating.
Finally, we got her to look at the camera!

"Ask, touch, longhorns, please, daddy, thank you." Learning how to say complete sentences is tough work.

Happy Halloween!
