Happy Birthday Maddie!

Whew one year already! I was still in labor at this point 365 days ago. Ah those memories that are starting to fade and I start to think that wasn't so bad. Was it? Then I start to think about my tiny newborn and walk through the whole year in my mind. We have had our ups and downs. Thankfully more 'ups' than 'downs.' I love that baby girl more than I can possibly describe. We will celebrate today and then carry into year 2 tomorrow.
I apologize we had a birthday party for Big M last Saturday but most of the pictures are sadly not on my camera. I will post them here and most likely on Facebook in the next few days. In lieu of that, for now, here is look back then and now:

For the love of Paci

We had decided to move on and say farewell to our Soothie. It was the only paci she ever really wanted. Jeremy and I, for the most part, only let her have it for bed time. Honestly, she really didn't care if she had it or not other times. We actually made this decision that it was time about two months ago, but the weekend we decided to try teeth started to come in and that seemed sort of cruel. Saturday became the day, teeth 6 and 7 are in so we bit the bullet. The first nap was horrible! I didn't think we could get through it. I think what ended up helping was we played some lullaby music and she chewed on her lovie Piglet. The next nap she was fussy but it was half-hearted cries on her part (plus we made sure she was really tired). Each nap has gotten easier and easier. I am so relieved! I got tired of cleaning pacifiers especially during this crawling stage where I have to clean her hands all the time.

It has only been a couple of days and I really hope I am not speaking too soon but it looks like we met our goal of no more paci by a year!! Hooray! Now if only I could get her to stop eating grass...

The Rangers

Last week my sister took us to the Rangers game, and we had such a good time. We didn't make it through the entire game because someone could not handle it anymore. The funniest part was Maddie and the guy carrying around the cotton candy. Every time he came within her range of vision she would point and yell. It was quite amusing for all of us. Oh, and if you are curious they won. Thank you Amy for a wonderful outing!
