Dennis Gets Married

dennis wedding 090

Congratulations Dennis and Nikki. You guys were beautiful and I hope you are having fun in Aruba!! :)

On June 19th, the entire Dias/Tunes side of the family was in town to celebrate the wedding. It was pretty much non stop partying for about 10 days straight. I'm surprised my kids adjusted to their regular nap schedules so quickly!  Despite cranky kids for that 10 days of no naps, we had a blast with everyone that was in town. It was great to see those faces that we don't see very often.

Gabriel got to spend a lot of time with the Dias cousins and absolutely fell in love with them. Every day when he woke up, he would ask to play with them and when we were going to see them again. It worried me when the time came for them to leave, how he would take it...he did ask to play with them, but when I explained that they went on a big airplane back to their home, all he said was, "I want to go on a big airplane". So, luckily (for me) he didn't take it too hard. He LOVES looking through the pictures of all of them though.

They were such a good lookin' group of kids! All the dresses were so pretty and and the boys in their ties were little lady killers.

Dennis and Nikki had their sealing ceremony in the Portland Temple on the 19th and then had a ring ceremony on the 20th.  Those two days were very 'go, go, go' and although it was all very beautiful, it was nice when it was all over. :)

And a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY  to my sweetheart! Today is his birthday. I love you so much David!!!

Starlight Parade

This last weekend we headed downtown to the Starlight Parade. It is part of Portland's Rose Festival and one of their biggest "night time" parades. I have always liked going to parades, but now that I have kids, it's even more fun. We sat along Burnside and had a lot of fun just people watching. Portland is fantastic for that!! We got there early enough for kids to play and watch the 'fun run'. I think I'll run it next year! And thanks to my sister, we were able to skip having to be there hours early enough to get a good spot. She did that and then saved a spot for us.

Both my kids just watched and watched all of the bands and floats that went by. Angelina ended up falling asleep and even slept through the biggest and loudest drum line.

Gabriel and Cousin Simeon - these two crack me up sometimes!

We didn't get home and in bed until about midnight that night. Both kids slept like a rock!

Hug Point

For Memorial Day we decided to head out to the beach. We haven't been since last year and I was dying to go! We met up with my sisters family and the Gold's out at Hug Point. I have heard from a few people that it is a great place to go and have always wanted to check it out. They were right! We got there just as the tide was coming in so we didn't get to play much in the little water fall there and by the time we got all of our stuff unpacked, the tide was in even further. Man, it comes in quick! As it comes in there are some tide pools that we went to go check out, but we had kids with us and it was hard for them to get around because the water was getting deeper. Truth be told, I was getting a little freaked out myself. The ocean scares me. :) Anyway, so we made our little spot and had lunch at played in the sand. It was Angelina's first time at the beach and I think she had a good time. She even got her very first taste of the best stuff on earth. DR. PEPPER!

Just kidding. It was just for picture taking.

We all had a great time! It was a beautiful day and was just what we needed.
