Relief Society Broadcast

Well, I am a little behind on this post...but it was such a fun night that I couldn't skip it. I got to see the Relief Society Broadcast with these 3 girls and my aunt Tammy and Jill, unfortunately didn't get a picture of all of us. We were lucky to snap this one.

I actually stole that top picture from Jen's blog, cause I just got one of me, Ash and my mom....Jenny was late in meeting us so she wasn't in it.

I look forward to this time of year for so many reasons....and this is defintely one of them. I am so excited for Confrence Weekend, I just love the chance to listen to the prophet and the other great leaders in my church. This broadcast was full of wonderful messages and guidance and I am glad I got the chance to hear it with my most favorite ladies. Makes me proud to be part of the churches wonderful sisterhood.

We always go to Mimi's Cafe afterwards, next year we need to go somewhere new though. They were sooo slow and were out of like everything. Didn't matter though, we still have so much fun...lots of great moments and tons of laughs. Thanks my friends...love you all!

A pleasant day..

I feel stuck in a rut...
with pretty much everything.

I don't know what my deal is lately but I kinda just feel blah. Do you ever get like that. I don't know how that is possible, being as I am carrying a baby and all. Talk about a major life change about to take place, but none the less I have kinda just felt stuck in a rut.

Too much time spent tending to kids, too many doctor appointments and copays, too much cleaning, too much running here and there, too much end of summer yardwork, too much blah, blah, blah.

Yesterday was just what I needed. I decided to keep our schedule totally open, and see where the day took us. Here is a list of all that made me happy and feel a little more like me, rather than tired, fat, ornery me.

Dropped off Carson at school. Which leaves me 2 1/2 hours of alone time with this little face. What is it about one-on-one time with your children, that just makes them shine. It is like he just comes alive, his little eyes just sparkle with excitement. Its like he knows, that it is just me and him and he has my full attention. He was just soaking it up, being an absolute angel and got my morning off to a very fine start.

Ahh, now this picture makes me smile. I have recently discovered a great love for caffeine free coke and pepsi. I know this is old news but to me it is new. I don't drink caffeine while pregnant, and I have been missing it....bad. My mom and Jen kept trying to tell me that caffeine free was just as good, I was hesitant. They also tell me that about diet, and I hate diet. I don't know if my poor little self is just that deprived or what, but this stuff is tasting like heaven to me. A little taste of the stuff I love.

Headed up to Logan to spend the afternoon with Jen and the kids. These two were their usual weird selves..

Just one of the odd scenes we walked in on, these two have got quite the imagination...I will tell ya that.

However, you will not find two better friends. They truly seem to be each other's half, their minds work in the exact same way. I love to watch the relationship between them. Reminds me of me and my twinner.

Lincoln had a nice time discover Jen's toys...someone else's toys are always better than your own.

Katelynn getting some kisses from her cousins...what a good little sport she is. Especially to endure Lincoln, he likes her a little to much.

Went to lunch with Jen and my mom...check out these desserts....oh, they were so good.

Stopped at Brats to buy a few new things for my little. Drake seriously has a closet full of hand me downs, but come on since when does that stop me. I can't resist buying him a few things of his very own. Looking through that newborn stuff made my little heart just ache for him. Oh, I am starting to get awfully excited for his sweet little face.

Then stopped at little Gran's for a quick hello. The boys played, us girls chatted and Lincoln...

took a little siesta....

all cuddled up on his momma. The best kind. Both my babies think my ever growing tummy is a pretty comfy place to rest their little heads. I love it. Makes me laugh though cause I kept feeling Drake kick right against Lincoln. It is like the two of them were trying to stake their claim. Lincoln is thinking this is my mom and I will sleep here all I want to, and baby Drake is saying yeah, got right ahead but I'll kick you while you do. Haha.

Like I said, it was a perfectly pleasant day!

Saturday Night...

First we headed here...

Then onto the show...at a little place called the....

To see the live performance of....

It was magical. I for one, am not one to enjoy anything in the category of fine arts. I hate musicals, I despise dancing, and I usually do just about anything to avoid seeing them. My mom and sisters are crazy about this kind of thing, and I often get dragged along cause I don't want to miss out on girls night. However, when Thiago found out "Lion King" was coming to the Capitol Theatre, he jumped right on that. He usually hates that kind of thing too, but he looooves the Lion King and thought it would be so cool to see it. I reluctantly agreed.

My hesitancy was wasted though, cause I loved it. It was so wonderful, made me feel like I was in another time and place. I couldn't believe the beauty, yet quaintness of the Capitol Theatre. Like I said, it was magical. My mom and Dean got tickets to go with us, but Dean had something come up at the last minute...so Rosemary came in his place.

I will admit, lately come 9:00 my eyes start to get pretty heavy. I felt them starting to droop a few times during the last half, but I did my best to stay alert. So glad I did, cause it was wonderful. Definetly something different for us, and out of our norm for a date night. I think that is what made it so special though. Thanks honey, mommy dear, and Rose for a fun night!!

Night and Day...

Carson spent FOREVER today building towers and houses with his blocks. He lays them all out, color coordinated, divides them into groups by size. Slowly takes his time....building it all just right. He is careful, precise, and then loves to sit and admire his work.

Lincoln saw it...took him all but 2 seconds to send that little tower crashing to the ground. Do you think Carson was happy about this.....uh, no.

Just sending a few final kicks, to really destroy things.

My boys are night and day...it is an interesting life I lead raising these two. They could not be more different...but ya know what, I wouldn't have it any other way. It is like looking at life through two completely different set of glasses. So much to learn from each of them, they both open my eyes and make me see things differently. I love the perspective I gain from each of them.

(Don't you worry, Carson went on to build another tower and hid it in a closet from Lincoln. After all, he needed his dad to see his masterpiece).

Birthday WEEK!!!

Have I mentioned how much we like birthdays in this house.

Cause we do.

We like them alot.

Me and Thiago both like to squeeze every last drop out of our big days, we drag it out as long as possible. This year I decided to help my honey out, and drag it right on out with him. I decided to do a little, tiny gift a day, the whole week of his birthday. I would love to tell you what an incredible wife I am, and that every day I gave the most thoughtful and time consuming gift. However, I only made it Mon-Thurs. By Friday and Saturday I pooped out, and kinda skipped those days. Luckily, I have a very sweet husband, who just laughed at me and said it didn't matter cause he appreciated the other days. This was his gift on Monday...his favorite treats and a coke.

Tuesday was baking day. Thiago and the rest of the Cano's think I make the absolute best chocolate chip cookies. I really don't think they are anything special, but they all go on and on about them. So we whipped some up.

Lincoln was our taste-tester....looks like he approved.

Wednesday was his actual birthday. We got together with family that night for dinner and cake and icecream. Of all the places to pick, Thiago picked Tony's Pizza. What a funny guy, we really do love that place however I probably would have chose something else for my birthday.

I am always so appreciative of all the love and support our families give us. They made his day very special, and we are grateful you all were there.

Yep, I made his cake. I know shocking right, I baked twice in one week. Unheard of.

Some birthday loves...

Next day, Carson working on a little birthday banner. A big piece of yellow paper, with Carson written in the middle. In very light pencil I might add, it was a beautiful banner.

I took the kids to Dollar Tree and let them pick out a few presents for their dad.

Carson's original idea was a giant pencil, I told him his dad wasn't a five year old ....so pick again.

All Lincoln cared about was balls and "pider-man".

final choices...a rope, a flashlight, a soccer ball, some tire cleaner and the "pider-man" car (courtesy of Lincoln). Thiago could not stop laughing at his gift...only a dad would love a bag full of crap.

Nothing Friday or Saturday...sorry hon, I had good intentions. The end of the week wore me out, and all you get is an I love you!!!

Sunday, Thiago's mom had a BBQ for our families with all of Thiago's favorite foods. Here is Lincoln enjoying, he is turning into a great little eater as long as he is allowed to feed himself. Which always ends in a giant mess.

Carson baby-sitting little Gina...this doll used to be Rosemary's and she ventures out every now and then in the pile of toys. Carson was getting a kick out of looking at her, he is a well-rounded child....wouldn't you say.

That wraps up birthday week...hope you had a great one honey. Mine this coming year will be interesting, lets hope I don't spend it in the hospital. The baby and I are going to most likely share birthday weeks. Mine is the 28th and my due date is around the 23rd. Hmmmmm....interesting.
