Disneyland!

We just came back from a great trip to Disneyland. It was NOT easy getting there, however! When we arrived at the airport Friday night, all of United computers were down. The kids tried to make the best of waiting to see what will happen by playing a game or two.
But our Friday night trip was not meant to be and our flight was canceled. After several long phone calls, I booked us the same trip, but a day later. Here we are at the airport the next day.

We made it!

Amber and I waiting to ride Space Mountain.

I have a picture of the girls in this exact spot from about 4 years ago, so I thought it would be cute to take it again!

Amber and her favorite bear.

We all loved the Haunted Mansion.

Disney California at night is so pretty!
This huge ferris wheel changes color.

I didn't take as many pictures on the second day we were there, but here is one of Karina, just before we saw a Bug's Life show.

Here are some pictures of our hotel. This is a view from our room, of the pool and just beyond the trees, you can see Space Mountain.

We always came back in the afternoon for a rest before heading back out to the park.

We definitely had a wonderful time in Disneyland.

Pooh meets Pooh

Amber has a stuffed Winnie the Pooh, which has been all over the place with her...weddings, church, the city, movies, the doctors, the zoo, restaurants...so it was only fitting that she would bring her beloved bear to Disneyland to meet the real Winnie himself!

...is it just me, or does her little bear actually look kind of shy in this picture?

Me, Nick, and the Zoo

When Nick was a little guy, we would always go to the zoo. I thought it *could* be fun to go again, now that he is older. I wasn't sure if he would have as much fun as he did when he was small!
Well, I didn't have to worry. We had a blast there together! In fact, we had even more fun now that he is older. We looked at the animals, at french fries, and acted silly...

We loved how this gorilla looks like he is praying!

Afterwards, we went to Dennys to try the new bacon sundae. It was very, very, very sweet...

Back to School Night - 2011

The end of the school year is almost here - actually, Nick is already out of school. Now he is a Sophomore! Here we are visiting the girls' school, looking at all their work...
The girls showing off some of their best artwork...

Amber's mission project

Nice work!

Well, that was interesting...

"The Maker's Fair"...I had never heard of that, but apparently, over 10,000 other people have. A few weekends ago, us, and many others, went to this fair, at the San Mateo County fair grounds. It was packed! It took us a long time to find parking (we practically parked in another city, ha ha!), but we finally found our way inside.
There were all sorts of odd things to look at and do.

Amber and a few kids, pulling a million pound boulder in a circle.

This guys would spit fire and move around like crazy.

A fun ride that required people to pedal to make it work. There's Michael pedaling, and Karina on the left, enjoying the ride!
