Camping with class

Karina came back from "outdoor ed" a very happy girl! She was gone for 4 days, with her 5th grade class, camping in the woods.

I was able to obtain a few photos of her time there. Here she is setting up her bunk...

Getting ready for some night time activities!

One of the best days was when the kids went to the beach.

I bet it was the best week of their fifth grade year!

Amber and our morning at the farm...

Recently I wanted to spend some time with just Amber, on a special date. I asked her what she would like to do, and she replied, "Go to a farm." A farm? Not a shopping-lunching-manicure date?

No, a farm.

So, I managed to find a farm we could visit - Ardenwood Farms, in Fremont.

We had a nice time exploring the farm - we could pretty much go where ever we wanted. It only cost $3 total for the both of us, so I was happy about that!

Pretty impressive birds they have there!

Say Cheese!

There was a mansion there for us to walk around. They have tours of the mansion, but not when we were there.

We were there for about 2 hours, and then we had sushi for lunch on the way home. We had a great day at the farm! (...and maybe next time we can get our nails done, too!)

And then there were two...

This is a picture of the bus taking Karina away to camp, with her 5th grade class. That means I will only have 2 kids this week. We will miss Karina, but she is so excited about this, that I know she will have a lot of fun...

Here she is, peeking out at me, ready to go!

Karina and her friends, right before saying goodbye. See you Friday, Karina!

Valentine's for Five

This year Valentine's Day fell on President's Day Weekend, which totally threw Michael and I off. So, we decided to spend it as a family this year. We went to Golden Gate Park and to the Conservatory of Flowers.

We were so lucky that we picked a beautiful day - the weather has been so rainy lately!

It was rather humid inside the conservatory...

Our favorite exhibit was seeing the train that ran around the city of San Francisco.

After our afternoon in the park, we went to a Thai restaurant that Michael and I always went to, before we had kids. We were happy that it is still as good as ever! We love how you have to take off your shoes before entering, and sitting in the sunken tables/seats...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Shower for Two!

Last Saturday we went to a double-bridal-shower, for both of my sister-in-laws. Adrienne is getting married in April, and Renee is getting married in July. Two weddings in the family, in one year - FUN!

Father / Daughter Dinner Dance

Every year, our city has a Father/Daughter Dinner Dance, and every year we always have some reason to say no. This year, Karina found out that it is only for girls ages 4 to 11...and she is 11, so it would be the last year to go! So, with Amber's tentative permission, Michael and Karina went.
Karina was happy because her good friend Lindsey went with her dad, too. Lindsey's mom made the girls wrist corsages. Pretty!

Karina found a group of little girls to dance with...

...and of course she danced with her dad, too!

Karina and Michael had a fabulous time, even if her feet were killing her after the dance!
