Journaling
This post is pretty much just about stuff I haven't had time or felt like blogging about. Soooo, before you get bored and want to stab your eyes out, keep moving through your blog list. If you happen to make it to the end of the post, I have a bit of juicy info to share.
For journaling purposes....
Jackson had a fun bonfire beach party for his birthday and the weather cooperated just right for us. The rain disappeared right at the start and we roasted dogs and marshmallows until the tide came in. Good times.

Steve's parents rolled into town a few days before Christmas and we started partying like nobody's business.

They brought Bruce. I still think they were trying to leave him here. And I would have kept him if he didn't poop or pee, drool, bark, shed, have bad breath and even worse gas. I did enjoy putting my cold feet underneath him though. ☺

We hosted Christmas Eve for most of my family (37 people total). It's risky mixing my family with my in-laws but everyone behaved. I think we set a speed record for singing The 12 Days Of Christmas. It was so nice to not be the ones to have to drive home the night before Christmas and still have 85 presents to wrap.

Christmas day brought happy kids, iPod, DSi's (soooooo worth the money), Toy Story characters and more. But not a lot more since, as we tell the kids, your presents get fewer as you get older because they're more expensive. I feel really good about not going overboard this year. There have been years where I've felt physically sick about how many gifts we gave the kids. Santa brought the hit of the year - a snow cone machine. I can picture my little entrepreneurs selling them on the corner next summer. I found a recipe to make syrup on the cheap using kool-aid flavors. The tandem bike was my gift to Steve (and myself). So fun.

Laura and Jake arrived Christmas night and then the party really started. We stayed in a fancy hotel and went to the ICE exhibit in Orlando, which was pretty cool. Or COLD would be a better word. They keep it at 9° and pass out parkas for us warm-blooded Floridians. I think it was training for the freezing temps we've been having for a few days.

Some other random December photos:
My Ugly Ornament to Jeanette this year.
I forgot to take a pic of the one she sent me before I packed
up the Christmas stuff. I think I won anyway. ☺

The hunched shoulders tell it all.
"Get your big white scary hand off me."

Jackson as Joseph in the church Nativity.
Yes, that's a duck in the stable....

Audrey as a cute reindeer in the school play.

Sadie, oh so happy to be doing a science project during Christmas Break.

Steve and I watched the movie Julie and Julia. He said it was a little slow. I liked it because I like to cook. I think it would be fun to try something new every day for a full year. I have yet to see Avatar - just haven't been in the position to sit up straight for 3 hours. Steve saw it and thought it was pretty great.
Overall, our general break from school has been my favorite. Yesterday the routine started again. I'm already looking forward to Spring Break. For the last 3 days before school started I literally did nothing, except go to church and take down my Christmas stuff. Partly because I knew it was about to get busy again and partly because I feel like puking every 5 seconds.
Speaking of 5.... if all goes well, that's how many kids will be running around our house next summer!! I hesitate to break the news because one time before I was pregnant with Justin, when I was three months along we told the kids and not a week later it was all over. And then it happened about year later at 7 weeks along. I'm coming up on 12 weeks and crossing my fingers. One thing I'm fairly certain about is I probably won't be doing this again so hopefully all will go well. Even though that all just sounded like a downer we are so very excited! Just nervous too.
With all the lying around I've been doing, I finally got a chance to read several books I've been waiting for the time to read. I don't know about everyone else but when I read, I basically ignore everything and everyone. So I usually read a bunch of books then take a break for a while. I finally got to read the first two Hunger Games books and I'm beside myself with anticipation to read the third one - not out until NEXT FALL - ugh! I dare say I liked them better than the Twilight series.... don't hate. ☺
Whew! That's it. I just want to publicy apologize to my family for being such a crank for the last 2 months. I'm feeling much better now so I promise all the Chick-Fil-A and frozen Sam's Club meals are in the past. ☺
