Steve partied in the Keys with his boyz and our church Bishop, who apparently snores all night and so loud that earplugs and Unisom can't tune out the racket.
Jackson and I lived it up in St. Louis where we saw the All-Star Game, the Home Run Derby (Jackson lived it) and took the obligatory tour of The Arch (very cool).
Sadie, Audrey and Justin spent some time with my sister, Amy, and several of their beloved cousins. They had a good time. As if to prove me wrong for worrying about him being weepy with sadness and missing me the whole time, Justin didn't speak of me during any of the four days and I was told Amy became "Mom". When I walked in the door from the trip, he gave me a nod and said, "Mommy!" and turned right back to The Backyardigans on TV and a his box of pretzels.
Helloooo, I've been gone for 4 days.
And then that night when I tried to snuggle with him on the couch, he got up and moved to the other couch, sighed and said "okay" like he was saying, "ahh, that's better."
Whatever. There was already a shortage in the sweetness factor with him lately. I'm just going to go ahead and label him a terrible two-year-old. He's really earned it lately, but that's a whole other story.
Back to St. Louis. Facebook friends, sorry for the repeat pics.
Jackson was what is called a Shagger at the Home Run Derby. I think they should change the name, but apparently in Major League Baseball it has an entirely different meaning than it does in the UK and Austin Powers. Shaggers in baseball catch the outs (balls that are not home runs) in the Derby.
Here he is shagging.

Going for the ball.
Walking off the field with a new friend.
All the shaggers in the bullpen.
The world's largest baseball on our private tour of the Fanfest.
I don't know why we look so short and smooshed in this picture.
Probably because it's the world's largest baseball?? ☺
50 something mph pitch!
My nephews Ben and Joey and their friend, Justin.
Jackson just hanging around.
They use push brooms to keep the grass on the field looking good.
It didn't happen. She had better places to go, I guess.
Obama trying to throw a pitch.

Unfortunately for him St. Louis is Busch Country and Bush Country.
The crowd cheered louder for a commercial of W than they did for this.
Clydesdales - had to take a lot of pics of these for Audrey.
Riding to the top of the arch.
Can you say claustrophobia?
Views from the top.
Meanwhile, a couple thousand miles away....
We enjoyed eating some of these guys a few nights ago.
So am I. That would have been cool to see.
How do you sleep like that?!
It was a fun week for all of us, even if we weren't all together. I had a great time hanging out with Jackson. It probably won't be very often that I get to spend a few days with just one of the kids. We got round-trip vouchers from the airline because our flight out there was delayed 7 hours so Jackson is already asking where we're going next. ☺
