Getting back to real life...

Jan. 2014
We enjoyed looking through our jar full of blessings from 2013.  We tried out a projector upstairs while a fire was blazing.  FUN!  Brazilian dinners are a treat!  Sara cooked up a snowstorm to be given away at BYC.  Garrett has enjoyed futsol and indoor soccer this winter.  Being a safety patrol member on a snowy week is tough after being in CA 70 degree weather.  Garrett fine tunes the art of the new game Suspend.  Lots of fun happening around here.

The End (Boo Hoo)!

Early in Jan. 2014
School was calling so back to UT we had to go!  Bummer deal!  Thanks Gramma and Grampa for the fantastic time!

Last Day of Splendor!

Jan. 2, 2014
Waiting to take a picture with Mickey took the VERY longest out of everything we did!  I guess it was worth it, even though he didn't even put his arms around my kids : (  We had all dreamed of eating in the Blue Lagoon inside of Pirates of the Caribbean so James made that happen.  It wasn't as great as we had envisioned but we can say we did it : )  They serve interesting/different food.  My meat was really good and so were the rolls but I don't think anyone else raved about anything else.  The ride got jammed so it kept repeating a saying over and over again.  Our waiter was nice so that always helps!
I LOVE our pooped out picture.  That was taken outside the gates our last night.  That's pretty much how we all felt.  I forgot to mention how terribly my knees hurt the first night.  I almost couldn't walk.  Luckily I got a headache so I took some medicine for it but it helped relieve the aches in my knees.  Weird.  I must be getting old.
The LONG canoe was a treat to board.  The guide told lots of funny jokes all the way around the loop.  Glad we made time for that!  Even though the crowds were intense we were able to ride everything we wanted to except the Matterhorn.  We felt like the trip was a HUGE blessing and we enjoyed almost every minute!  Thanks again, FM 100.3!!!

Day #2 in CA Adventure

End of the Year 2013/Beginning of 2014
Once again I have too many pictures.  Everything was sooooo fun!  This day started out VERY foggy and chilly!  We really wanted to see CARS Land.  It was spectacular, just like you were walking through the movie!  The race car ride was lots of fun!  We went in the single rider line since the other line was outrageous.  This meant we didn't get to ride together.  That was okay!  We all had different tales to tell when we got off the ride!  CA Screamin' had James screaming!  At least he didn't get sick! : )  The ice cream cones there are the BEST!  The new Little Mermaid ride was great.  The kids didn't like it too much but I did.  It's one of my favorite Disney fliks!  At lunch we walked all over trying to find somewhere to eat, where we'd all be happy.  We ended up with Mexican food.  As soon as we sat down to eat Mickey and Minnie were wheeled out for a fun Feliz Navidad parade.  It was fun to catch the music and fun right from our table!  This was ANOTHER awesome surprise...just being at the right place at the right time!

More from Magical Day #1!

New Year's Eve 2013
Disneyland actually stayed open until 3 AM but we only lasted until about 10 PM.  They had party hats and blowers for everyone!  It was fun to see everyone walking around ready to celebrate New Years together.  Seeing everything lit was a joy!  There wasn't any room to stand and watch the fireworks show so we kept moving in a circular fashion so we wouldn't get in trouble...it worked!  We rode the monorail around the park and stopped off in one land in time to catch a show full of singing and dancing.  We hadn't planned on attending it but happened upon it.  It was AWESOME!!!!  Sara loves Space Mountain. Garrett and I weren't so sure.  He actually hated it!  Treats at Disneyland can't be compared!  Since we didn't have to pay for our entrance tickets we splurged on food.  Most of the time we were all happy with our choices.  Some of the sandwiches and salads were really good!
