A Little Project

Awhile ago I saw a blog post for Wall Art which I really liked. So I showed it to Jarrett and he told me that he could build it. Fast forward a couple weeks and look what we did last weekend. We used bright colors since our room is a little dark and fairly neutral.

First Jarrett built a frame and painted it white because we had a can of it in the basement
 Then I painted the slats

Then I hammered the slats on

This is actually the first time we have ever hung something up in our bedroom - we've been married 6 1/2 years.

Jarrett is now in trouble because he has shown he is willing and I discovered pinterest

Why I'm a Little Weary of My Mom's E-mails

My Mom often gets great ideas. They are usually projects and usually involve one of her kids. One of her latest projects was a cousins book. Each page had pictures of each cousin and facts about them. The book also contained a map, some trivia and if you were able to put the cousins in order from oldest to youngest. Of course like every project we do it had a few hiccups, especially when we quickly finished it to meet a coupon code deadline (got it in a 1/2 hour before the deadline). Here is a sample of a few of the pages from the book.

Thoughts?

So what do you think of our new blue door? I haven't decided if I love it or hate it. The top picture is the original blue color we picked - can't tell the difference between the two pictures? Well, the first color was really bright is real life and the new color is a little more muted. When we first painted it, every time Jarrett would see it, he would hate it more and more. That's why we went and got the colored darkened. We've decided that we will live with the door til next spring and then re-evaluate.

Sesame Street - this time with pictures

This is actually the second time we went to Telus World of Science to go to the Sesame Street exhibit. We have passes for the second year and this has been by far the best exhibit for our kids, so we are a little sad it's gone. A note about this trip is that I took all 3 kids by myself, you can make fun of me if you want but it's not easy going places with 3 kids 4 and under. Especially if you have a Parker, every time we go to the doctor he makes a comment about how busy Parker is. Now back to the topic on hand, we had fun checking out the exhibit, watching a science demonstration that ended with ice cream and watching a Big Bird/Elmo movie about stars. We went at the perfect time, it was during school plus too early in the year for field trips.
On the steps

Landon did not like the counts noisy organ (which coincidentally told you about organs)

Checking out at Hooper's store

Scanning the items

Super Grover's Obstacle course

Walking on the path ( can you tell mt camera was on a weird setting and I didn't know plus it wasn't the good camera)

Last Minute Taylor Swift

Two years ago I went with Michelle and her girls to Taylor Swift and sat at the top of the Stadium. We decided to go again this year when Richard told us he could get us cheap tickets. So we added my mom to the group and sat at the very top of Rexall Place. It was fun and probably would have been better if I was more familiar with her latest CD. But she sure did put on a good show.

The girls decided to tryout the money grab, that didn't have real money. Which is good because Lola dropped all of hers before getting out. Alia kept hers but just won a coupon book.

Lola and I took a self portrait - Lola is sporting her new lipstick we got for free since cover girl sponsored the tour. It was a fun night but maybe next time we'll branch out on our choice of concerts.
Best picture I could get of the concert

Two, Two, Two, Guess Who's Two?

Parker turned two this year and threw him a party the Friday before because the Stubbs were here.Actually having other children makes it more of a party. We had hamburgers and hot dogs, as well as chips. The most important part were the chips as Parker loves them. He also loves trains, so we made him a train cake. The train was an interesting adventure to make.

The kids played on the trampoline and in our bounce house

Parker seeing his present, He was actually excited

See he hopped right on

Parker had lots of help opening his presents

Checking out the loot

He did get to open a few

Giving his new Buzz Lightyear a ride

Blowing out the candles
Parker, what can we say about him. He's a turkey and loves to climb. He's a pretty good eater and will eat more food than his brother at  most meals. Likes to snuggle on his own terms and spends the day asking where his Daddy is. He loves trains and looking for cows when we drive. He love's Ashlyn and often say she's "coot", always loves to do what Landon is doing. He likes to jump on the trampoline and push chairs to get what he wants. He is a great kid who keeps us on our toes!
