Dressing up

Landon has learned the joy of playing dress up unfortunately our options are limited. The costumes that fit are from when we were in Calgary, the way to small duck costume is ours - it size 6 -12 months

We were trying this coat on Parker to see how big it was (too big for Parker) and Landon wanted to try it on. We are lucky that his love of dress up includes wanting to wear mittens and hats

Thanksgiving

Today is American Thanksgiving and we are having turkey and all the trimmings at our house. This is the 3rd time I've made Thanksgiving dinner and it has come a long way from my first year. I made stuffing for the first time - we'll see how it tastes tonight. It's great to get to have thanksgiving twice, I just wish we had the great black Friday deals here. I never wrote what I was thankful for on Canadian Thanksgiving but here are a few things -

1. Our dental insurance - I recently had a root canal and when I looked at what the insurance had paid and what I paid, I was very thankful for our dental insurance. I have learned that root canals are expensive and now I have to get a crown - I am so thankful for dental insurance that pays for this dental work. I still have to pay but not as much.

2. Jarrett's job. I know this seems obvious that I should be thankful for this but I've had a hard time as it hasn't been the ideal situation for us but I am thankful because he has a job and it is a good one that provides for us and allows me to stay home

3.Friends. I sad to move as I will miss a lot people and not seeing them every Sunday. I really hope to maintain these friendships and I really hope we will be able to make new friends in our new ward

4. My parents. They are allowing me to come live with them and for that I am so thankful. They are so supportive of us and I so glad to live close to them

5. my two boys. They drive me crazy sometimes but I love them

Things that aren't going to make the Christmas letter

As the season to write our Christmas letter approaches I've been pondering on our last year, though noteworthy I don't think these things will make the letter

-That I referred to the time Jarrett spent up north as "the summer of crap"
-what solidified our decision to buy a house was the night two drunk girls came and banged on our door at 1 in the morning. It took both of us yelling at then through the door to convince them they had the wrong house
-that I went to the hospital the day before I had Parker when I was pretty sure I was not in labor but wasn't going to take any chances when I was alone with a two year old (thanks again Nikki for watching Landon plus you cleaned up my house - that was great)
- That picking out things for my house stressed me, even though I know I should of been more excited. I really hope everything looks nice together - people I have a hard time matching my clothes sometimes and I had to try to make a house look like it all went together (luckily there was a very nice lady who helped with most of it

All interesting things but I don't think they'll make this years letter

A Giraffe and a Harrison

Here is our giraffe all excited to go trick or treat and get candy. We our low key Halloween people and you never even have known it was Halloween by how we spent our day. We lined up at Toys R Us for free gift cards (and i scored with a $50 gift card), went to Costco and then went appliance shopping. We missed our ward's Halloween party but Landon did go to the mom and tots Halloween potluck but hardly anyone came due to tons of families being sick.

He was a little annoyed that I made him look at me so I could take a picture of his whole costume.
Here is Parker dressed as Harrison. Who is Harrison you ask? This is a Harrison.

My sister Rebecca was kind enough to lend us the outfit for Halloween this year

He's excited to go trick or treat plus the fact he had a tail. He loved the tail. Pumpkins that made loud noises as you walked pass them not so much.
