How I feel Today

Do you want the truth?

Well, today I didn't want to be a mom anymore. I was done. I seriously considered how detrimental to Landon's well-being it would be to still be in diapers when he went to kindergarten. That was around underwear pair 4, imagine how I felt around pair 9. It was just a rough day, especially since I kinda felt he was doing it on purpose, since he was mad at me. I had said no to something, I can't even remember what now. I know it's only the third day ( of the 4th or 5th start) but I'm going to say the first 2 days were better as successes outweighed failure. Don't get me wrong, I still love Landon but I wouldn't have put him on my favorites list today. Here's to tomorrow.

Am I crazy to think everything is so much harder with Jarrett gone? I kinda thought he'd be around to be my back up through all this fun stuff - a phone call does not count as back-up. And his last weekend home didn't even feel like a break with him home, as it was spent taking Parker to the hospital and then us taking turns with the stomach flu - which we gave to my Dad. My parents are great help but they aren't Jarrett. Richard is even rising to the occasion of helping me out with my boys. That should be a post unto itself - "Alana and Richard - They get along now. From writing "Alana Sucks in the snow to Richard volunteering to take Landon out to give me a break"

This isn't really suppose to be woes is me type post more like a stating how things are going right here, right now. I know I have many things to thankful for, especially Jarrett's job, it may be up north but he has one with a good company. I will just have to make this life work and I am glad that I am somewhere where people can help me. Everything we are going through now makes me more appreciative of Jarrett and what he does for us.

To Make Rebecca Jealous

Rebecca keeps on calling me t tell me all about her wonderful meals at Diner, Drive-Ins and dives restaurants. (if you are trying to make me jealous it worked), so I thought I'd try to make her jealous with my pics from the Olympic torch relay.

We knew the guy running the portion through Sherwood Park - he's a friend of my brothers. This allowed us to get some good pics and we got a good spot in front of some others friends house. It was a bit of a crazy day as it was colder than I thought it would be and Landon had no mittens also the pre-parade was loud which got Landon crying before the flame came.

Security guy on the right trying to hurry to get him back on the bus

Yes, I know I should have mitts on my kid. If I did believe me there would of been less meltdowns

It the midst of my kids melting down and trying to get them in a car, the super nice Grandma came and helped me when I had dropped my keys. She talked to Landon while I got Parker in. It was so nice and very appreciated
Some notes on my last post - I don't really want to post the link to the blog of where I saw the original idea as I found it just blog hopping one day and don't know this person and don't know how they'd feel about me putting a link their blog. If you want it I'll e-mail it to you. There wasn't any instruction on the blog and I don't know what she used to make hers. I used Photoshop elements and Shabby princess digital scrapbooking (I used a few others but can't remember what they were called). Most of the pictures came from sugardoodle.net after I learned the hard way that google images can be a little scary. Jarrett and I came up with idea for most of the letters during Sunday school one week using the Bible dictionary

Alphabet book

So I made this alphabet book for the boys, I found the idea one day when I was looking at blogs. It was suppose to be for Christmas but the laminator didn't work so I still need to laminate them. It's meant to be a quiet book for church, I wanted something and had to find a no sew method as my talents do not lie in that area. Ignore that z is between b and c it does not want to go to the end

Five for Friday

1. I was recently at a store and asked what was wrong with the online coupon as it was saying it was for 1999. Turns out that 2010 has caused them computer problems, I just had to laugh as I remember all the big hoopla about 200 and nothing happened.

2. We took Landon to see the temple, he looked at the Angel Moroni and proclaimed "Jesus, must be a good golfer"

3. My hole is not dug. I check every other day because it's been super nice. I just want to get this house ball rolling

4. Today we found out that the other company that offered Jarrett a job when he finished school is completely closing their Edmonton office and laying 150 people off. Makes me happy with the choice we made even though Jarrett is up north

5. We went to the space and science center. It is a great place for kids as there are tons of buttons to push

It's Hard being Parker

Does anyone know how to turn this?

Lethbridge

After Christmas we were able to head down to Lethbridge to see Jarrett's family. We went to Ryacc's blessing, had Christmas dinner and did our name exchange. It was a fast trip but very fun unfortunately we had to head back to move. I did keep on thinking that one day I'll go to Lethbridge and see Marie.

Here is Landon and Parker in their present from Grandma and Grandpa Kutanzi - a chair their size
Emberly checks it out with Landon. I can tell you that Landon loves this chair and sits in it all the time

above and below are the pics of the fat lip he got. He fell and hit the stairs (which are wood)

Landon with Bentley the dog. Luckily his grandparents have a dog as his mom and dad have no intention of getting one

Trying to get a picture of new church clothes - not very cooperative
It was great to see everyone and hang out even if it was for a short time. We did learn that Parker does not like to travel and cried for hour straight on the way down and more on the way up (both times started in Claresholm, don't know what he has against that place)

Christmas Day

We really enjoyed having the morning to ourselves (we opened presents at my Parents house but they were in Calgary). Landon definitely got Christmas this year and was very excited and LOVED opening presents. He got to open all his presents plus all of Parker's. He got a little too overzealous and opened some of Grandma and Grandpa's they left behind. Here is the picture overload of our day Checking out his stocking

Helping Parker open his gift ( from him)
He was showing Parker how it worked
Jarrett goes a little overboard with trying to disguise presents - this contained a camera plus a lot of shredded paper. Parker looks like he wants to see whats inside too

Jarrett showing off his new watch - I actually surprised him this year. Usually he guesses what I get him
Landon was so excited to get Hungary Hippos

We got a new knife set and Jarrett was examining it ( he guessed this one)

Our Christmas feast - ham, sweet potatoes, jello, roasted broccoli with cheese and loaded mashed potatoes
Yes, Landon wore his Christmas PJ's all day and he ditched the pants But the point of the picture is his Christmas crown and yo-yo from his Christmas cracker

Jarrett and his crown
We had a great Christmas Day which included a Breakfast of hash browns, Eggs, toast and Sausages. This Christmas saga isn't over yet as we still have Lethbridge to come
