Four Months

We can hardly believe that Jackson is 4 months old. He has changed so much, from a newborn to a playful little baby! I still just melt when he smiles at me! However, if there is any sort of camera in the area (whether it be the iPhone, Digital, or Video) Jackson will stop smiling and stare at the device. Tyler and I have to be tricky to get him to ever smile in pictures, which is so sad because he's such a smiley baby!

In this picture Jackson is looking at me and Tyler quickly snapped this while he was distracted with mommy. I'm still waiting for him to stare at a camera and smile ... that will be the day!
Here are some recent updates on our 4 month old!

*He sleeps through the night, normally he sleeps for a good 9 hours each night, sometimes 10! Now, when we hear him waking up, he is more often talkative than crying. Recently he discovered his toes and he'll usually be grabbing them when he's waking up from his sleep.

*He wears 6-12 month size clothes. I used to have a closet full of baby clothes, now he's outgrown half of them and will outgrow pretty much everything else in a few months. Time to go shopping!

*He loves to sit up like a big boy! Whether it be on mommy's lap, in a bumbo, on the couch, in the stroller, or here in the rocking chair.
*Maybe even more than sitting, he loves standing up on our laps. I'm guessing he'll stand on his own pretty early. He doesn't need much support from mommy or daddy. He loves being able to look around and see what's going on around him!

*He's not a huge fan of lying on his back and especially not his stomach, so he hasn't really rolled over yet. He's pretty dang close, but not there yet. I probably don't give him enough tummy time, I try once a day though. But he really hates it after about 3 minutes, and he always spits up afterwards, so it's kinda annoying to have to clean it up every time.

*He LOVES his daddy, he loves hanging out with him and bouncing up and down on his lap.

*He loves swimming, which is lucky since we live in Florida! Daddy takes him swimming every week and he loves moving around in the water.

*He loves flying in the air with daddy. This is a recent activity but it always gets a big smile from Jackson ... now if only we could capture it on the camera...

I love my boys!!

Sick Baby

Having a sick baby is the worst. This weekend Jackson had a cold and it was so sad for Tyler and me to see him suffer. He's normally such a happy little guy so it's sad to hear him with a scratchy cough, sniffling, and having a hard time breathing. I hate to admit that he caught the little virus from his mommy :-( But he's feeling a lot better now, can't say the same for mommy, but I'm so glad his immune system is working so well!
He also had to get his immunization shots the day he was first getting sick. Here's the poor little guy with his watery eyes and bandaids.




He turned 4 months on Saturday, I'll post more pictures later but for now - it's just crazy to see how much he's changed in the past 4 months.

July 19

July 19 is a good day for the Jennings family. Last year, on July 19th we found out we were going to become parents!It was late at night when when we took these pictures and I obviously wasn't looking my best. But as much as I hate the way I look in this picture, I love the moment in portrays. I was very surprised and overwhelmed as you can see!

One year later I have this beautiful boy.

He'll be 4 months old on Saturday, I can't believe how fast time flies. But at the same time, it feels like I've been Jackson's mom forever. And I know everyone says their baby is the cutest ever - but seriously Jackson is so dang cute! People who see him seriously do double takes when they peek in the stroller, not expecting to see such a little cutie. And, I don't know if it's a good thing, but we've been told numerous times that he's "way too cute to be a boy." I kind of really want to submit his pictures so he can be a model - but I'm guessing so does every other obsessive mom...


ANYWAYS ... This year on July 19th (aka yesterday) we also found out some good news -- but I'm not sure we're ready to share quite yet. Just like we didn't announce we were having a baby until we got things verified with a doctor, we will wait until we get things verified by .....

Mark Mabry took this picture when we were all in Arizona for my brother's Missionary Farewell.

This is just a picture OF the picture, but it still looks awesome! My mom just picked it up from Mark and we don't have a digital copy yet. I think it will look great over the fireplace, replacing the old family picture he took almost 4 years ago. Since then, 2 new members have been added: Ben and Jackson. Love his little mouth and toes! (Jackson's, not so much Ben's...) It's crazy how much our little guy has changed since this photo was taken 7 weeks ago.

Happy Jacksy

We have such a happy baby, but for some reason it's really hard to get him to smile for pictures. He will smile for mommy and daddy, but by the time the flash goes off and the picture is snapped, he ends up looking like this.


Still unbelievably cute, but not smiling.

That's why pictures like this are so rare, even though its what he looks like most of the time.

This video proves that he is a smiley baby - even right after sneezing. And he has so much to say nowadays, so cute. We love our buddy so much!

Fourth of July Weekend

Happy Fourth of July! Jackson looked so cute at church in his little sailor outfit!




After church we drove over to the Tampa Bay area where we stayed for 2 nights in Clearwater. It was kinda rainy all weekend, but we made the most of the time it wasn't rainy!

Sunday night we walked around Clearwater Beach.

So since it was rainy most of the time on Sunday, we just chilled in our hotel room and took pictures of Jacksy with us.








It stopped raining just in time for all the fireworks so we were able to watch the fireworks over the Bay. Jackson did great for his first fireworks show. It might help that we can hear the fireworks from DisneyWorld every night when he's going to bed, haha.





Tyler had the day off on Monday, so we were planning on going to the beach during the day, but it rained all day so our plans were ruined. We ended up going to a movie, and Jackson sat on my lap for the whole movie. We're enjoying these times while they last, Jackson has been to 4 movies with us!



On Monday night we got to the main event, the event that instigated our trip to the Tampa Bay area was the Red Sox game! They came to town July 5th and so it worked out perfectly to take our trip this weekend. Ty became a huge Sox fan when he lived in Boston during the summer of 2004 - when they finally won the World Series.

It was fun to take Jackson to his first baseball game! He did great, we stayed for 7 innings, when we left it was tied, but sadly the Red Sox ended up losing by 1 :-(
