My Beauties

I know I am their mom, but these kids are gorgeous! And most of the time they are sweet to match. Love 'em.

Being close to family

We are so glad that Matt and Abbey live in Logan. We love having them over to visit, to have dinner, and/or eat treats. Preslie and Hunter just love to see them. Matt tells Preslie spooky stories and Hunter loves to kiss Abbey. It is so so nice having family close by!

What a dish...

I don't know which one to drool over- the chopped onions, garlic, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, and herbs sauteing in olive oil, -or- the tall dark and handsome biologist that knows how to cook! Lucky for me, I get both!

Grandpa of the Year

Meet Craig Mangus, Grandpa of the Year. He visits his grandkids at least once a month and when he gets here, It's hard to tell who is 5 and who is 53. He is like a big playmate, but better since he can reach up high, drive to the dollar store, and read stories. These children just love him.

Anyone Can Post a Comment!

I changed the settings so that anyone (even non-registered users) can leave a comment about a post. So if you like what you see, leave me a message! Thanks. And thank you, Anne for the tip and for your fun blog that inspired me to start my own!

Snuggle Buddies

I go in and check on my kids every night before I go to bed. Many nights, one of them is missing from their bed and then I quickly discover that they have crawled in bed with the other. I love that they love each other and want to be next to each other. I love that they are good buddies.

365 days

This is my brother, Lance. He has been sober for 365 days (plus a few). I am so so proud of him. A while ago I read a quote that really reminded me of the daily battle he is fighting-and winning.
"Every day you make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you and ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb." -Sir Winston Churchhill

Bird's eye view

Dax took this picture as he was riding in a plane over Logan on his way home from counting elk out at Deseret Land and Livestock. I thought it was neat and wanted to share it. That's the Logan temple there in the middle.

Big weekend

This little boy has gone through a lot in the last few days. After getting a block stuck in his mouth on Friday, that night he took a serious fall and got a concussion. He still has the bump on his head but he is doing fine now. He finished his last potty chart (note the "Chick Hicks" car in the photo- his reward) and I am proud to say he is potty trained! He continues to be my snuggle buddy and one of the greatest joys of my life.

Just can't wait

Here is the Girl making valentines. I know, I know, Valentine's day isn't for another 3+ weeks. She begged me and begged me last Friday to help her make valentines. "Mom, can we please make valentines?" I finally gave in and it turned out to be so much fun. Thank you, Preslie for reminding me to stop being such a boring grown-up and do something just for fun, even though my schedule did not require it!

Freezing

It is -4 degrees outside right now. -4! That is so ridiculous. Yes, I have 2 quilts on me in the photo (and at the time of this post, too). What is even worse is that I have been wearing 2 pairs of pajamas to bed some nights, I wear slippers or shoes at all times, and I've even worn my coat for up to 3 hours at a time (inside!) and I don't break a sweat. At least I have a nice warm heater named Dax to warm me up!

chillin after church

These two are the best little friends. I love to see them interact. What a lucky lucky mom I am!

Stuck

I was sitting here posting stuff on my blog and I hear Hunter in the other room start crying hysterically. Next thing I know, he runs in my room with a block in his mouth and I ask him if it is stuck and he says through the block and his tears, "I can't get it out!" Don't think I am the worst mom ever, but my camera was sitting in my lap and I just couldn't help snap this sad but adorable little predicament!

Sweet Little Guy

My little sweetheart has 2 personalities! Super sweet or super grumpy!

Guitar Chick

I am taking a community ed guitar class right now and I'm loving it! It makes me realize how much I miss piano. It is so fun to sit down and just play. Hopefully I can get semi-good with some guitar chords and be able to play some fun songs.

Cars Mania

Here are the crazy Cars lovers. They are trying to collect all the cars from the movie. It is lucky for Hunter that he is being potty trained right now (and doing awesome!) and he gets Cars toys for rewards.

Fishing Secrets Revealed

For all you expert fisherman out there, here is a tip that you won't find in any fishing magazine. This 5-year-old girl had her line in the water for 5 minutes and landed this beautful rainbow trout. Her secret? She used a pink Barbie fishing poll that she got for Christmas.
She wanted to keep the fish so bad, so Dax cleaned it and we took it home where he cooked it and Preslie ate it. What at cool little fisherlady!

Hunter Rules

Hunter was the king at the Children's Museum in Ogden on Saturday. If you have never taken your kids to a Children's Museum, do. It is a ton of fun. We loved the Children's museum of Denver- it was amazing! We plan to visit the one in Salt Lake next.

She lost her first tooth!

It was a surprise to us all, especially her. Preslie felt something in her mouth-she thought it was a piece of food, and when she pulled it out, it was actually her tooth. She was a little upset at first because of the blood and the fact that one of her teeth came out, but then my family comforted her with comments about being a "big girl" and getting money from the tooth fairy and it became the coolest thing ever. The best part was catching Preslie checking out her new smile in the mirror every ten minutes.

This is my wonderful family. I love looking at this picture. I know it will be outdated soon, and it doesn't have Tiphanie in it, but the people in it are happy and together and for a few brief moments, this is how we look, and I think it is beautful.

Rear-ended

Tonight I was rear-ended in front of the Tabernacle on Main Street. The car two cars back slammed into the car behind me which then smashed into our car. Everyone involved was unharmed. The poor middle car was sandwiched and suffered the most damage. Our car has minor damage. Preslie and Hunter were with me and cried at first because they were scared and didn't know what happened. I got a minor headache but all of us are fine! It was my first car wreck and hopefully my last.

I guess I am a blogger!

I don't really know how this works but I guess I just set up my own blog !?!
