Letters to the North Pole

One of our advent activities was to write a letter to Santa and then send it via Macy's mailbox.  The kids were sooooo incredibly excited to be able to actually send a letter to Santa.
Emily insisted on holding McKay...he wasn't so sure-ha!

I love their excitement! I sure hope Santa got their letters...

Sleigh bells ring...

On a whim, I decided that since the sun was shining that I would head up a few miles and enjoy some free sleigh rides and hot cocoa with the kiddos...My sister was willing to come with and it proved a very fun memory and outing.

Emily was so facinated with the horses...she was giddy all over.
Bryant couldn't hold still...he is a cowboy in the making and couldn't believe they were going to let him ride up front with the driver!  He was in heaven, his only regret...that he didn't have his cowboy attire on to liven up the festivities! HA!
Poor Lydia wasn't feeling the best, but sure benefitted from the cool, crisp air and sunshine.

They also had a fun little photo booth that they were letting everyone take pictures with or without props and then it printed two little slides of photos.  And although Lydia isn't up to smiling in it, the kids thought it was the neatest thing!!

We also saw Santa while we were sipping our delicious hot cocoa...he gave everyone a candy cane.  The kids just loved the outing and for a small moment I felt like I might have earned my mom-of-the-year badge once again...

Looks like we found a new yearly tradition!
