Our Hilarious Boy

We just had a parent-teacher conference with Ben's teacher and she gave us one of his writing samples that was supposed to be a short, catchy opening to a story:

WARNING
If you are friends or family of tonsils or adenoids, do not read this story because...This is my final WARNING! If you are friends or family of tonsils and adenoids do not read this story!!!!!!!!! O.k. this is how the day started. It was a very gloomy day. I got into the car. I was very excited. I was about to get my tonsils and adinoids...I was with my dad when it happened. Also I was at a hospital when it happened. I don't know much but I know one thing, it hurt a lot. But two good things happened. I am not going to get strep throat as much and I got to eat icees and popcicles every day. I konw where my tonsils and adinoids are: they're in a trash can in a hospital. THE END

Anna likes to sit

...she sits on all kinds of things and if she can get you to sit down beside her, she is thrilled! The more people she can get to join her, the happier! Not easy for a large prego like myself to sit on things so near the floor; often it is the floor.

Anna's first doll

Anna's first semi-realistic looking doll. She was pretty freaked out by the sight and touch of it the first few days. She would run away screaming and shuddering. It looked real, but it wasn't, it was just wrong. Once she accepted that it truelly was a toy, she started having fun. I love when she pulls up a stool and feeds it like this.

Playing in Water!

When Anna wasn't by Ben's side during recovery, we were playing in the water.

Ben's recovery

Anna was very concerned about the change in her brother. In this pic, she tucked herself in with a pillow to watch t.v. just like him.

Anna following in her brother's dancing footsteps...

Tonsil and adenoid free!

For each of the past three years, Ben has gotten strep throat 5 or more times. Hopefully this will be the end of all those doctor visits, sore throats, fevers and antibiotics! Ben was incredibly brave for the surgery. The sad thing is, the bravery has to last pretty much for a whole week and a half of recovery. It has not been a time any of us will look back on with fondness but we've finally hit the point of noticeable improvement and believe life, and especially our nights, will return to normal soon!
