Colman school is getting turned into something nice. African American museum and apartments and a "village"(?). i hope they keep the W graffiti and don't turn it into a mall.
here's T dressed as scooter (Colman school is outside the window of our livingroom).
here's what the plan for Colman looks like

my uncle emailed me some pics for the Urban Archives here's one that he took in 1979 in Rome.
and this one is from Siberia, 1954 (not for the Archive, just to see). The title is: Lunch Time at the Deer Herd. The Nenez-Eskimos Region in the North of Ural Mountains. My uncle Sasha was the photographer on an expedition to Siberia in 1954.

and here it is now as seen in google maps (the orange drop is in the wrong place for some reason, the house is actually two houses over to the right from the drop. I put a little orange dot in front of it, but it's kind of hard to see).
This, by the way, is kind of creeping me out. In the near future this will be live -- constant surveillance, people will be able to see my butt crack as I pull weeds in the back yard.

a couple of months ago in front of the HUB, a UW student was collecting donations for his invention -- a suit to help people walk. you strap your body into it and it moves your legs! It's a prototype, but the inventor participated in a walkathon wearing it. He is not paraplegic though...but still...check out theyshallwalk.org

Happy New Year. In Russia, Ded Moroz (Santa) comes during the New Year and with him comes Snegurochka. She is made from snow.
