getting ready for the september project at the new seattle library.
a few of us are putting together a community mural that will happen this Saturday, 9/11 at the new downtown Seattle Public Library (www.spl.org). This mural is part of the September Project(www.theseptemberproject.org).
Please forward this to everyone!If you would like to help, email me for more details. We can still use some folks to help out during the day.The painting starts at 10am and ends at 5pm.
we will be outside on the four corners of the block that the library sits on. Four 15´ portable walls will be set outside the four corners of the librarybuilding. Everyone is welcome to participate. Participants will be given paint and brushes and invited to take part in a visual community discussionabout ideals, politics, and dreams. Painting skills are not required.
so far the planning and getting ready has been amazing and fun. i love mural supply shopping. jonathan made terrific archival quality mural panels from Finish burch plywood. i almost don't want to paint over them, the wood is so pretty.
gi and marci are documenting the whole thing so there will be some amazing photos later. gi even got some kids to help!
