The Family that Plays Together...

This summer, we've been blessed to have a lot of family time.

The week after school got out, the Wessmans (minus Alan. Sorry Alan) and Grandma and Grandpa Paulsen came to visit. We love when people come visit us, because we love to show them how cool Arvada is. Hopefully, it was all their dreams come true (right Wessmans and Paulsens??).

The next weekend, we took a trip to Boise, Idaho to see my brother's family, and our nephew Donovan be baptized. It was so fun to see everyone on my side and to see Donovan make such a great decision to be baptized.

While we were there, the kids participated in a one-mile fun run. I ran with Lucy (since I had a bum ankle and I knew she wouldn't last long), and Jacob ran with Simon. Lucy laid down on the track several times, but Simon ran the entire mile. He was very determined.

A few weeks later, we had our big Paulsen family reunion in Breckenridge, CO. It's trips like this that make me realize how beautiful Colorado is.

We stayed in an amazing house:

Went on a beautiful hike:

Shared our dinner with a fox:

Rode the free gondola (several times):

Enjoyed delicious treats:

And best of all, spent the week with family:

If you haven't been to Breckenridge, it reminds me a lot of a smaller Jackson Hole. Plus, it's only an hour and a half from us. If you come visit me, I'll take you there and we'll go to the most amazing cookie shop I've ever been to.... Have I tempted you yet?

We are so blessed to have such an amazing family. I was raised by wonderful parents and have great siblings I know I can go to for anything. I married into a family where I feel right at home and love them like they're my own (wait... they are my own now!). Now if I could just convince some of them to move to Denver...
