Today Lucas' school had a Dino Dig. Parents and siblings were allowed to come in and participate!! The boys had such a great time digging in sandboxes for "dinosaur bones". They were bones made from plaster and were obviously not the actual size.
Then they are given a mat that has a picture of the appropriate dinosaur skeleton. The kids take the bones that they have dug up and place them in the proper place to ensure that they have gotten all the bones out of the box. These bones are theirs to keep and take home! Both Xander and Lucas dug up Triceratops!
Here is a little video clip if you want to see. I am actually just playing around to see how this works. Hope everybody enjoys!!

Memorial Day Weekend
Saturday we went to Sean's Uncle Tim's and Aunt Barb's for a picnic/bonfire. It was good to see everybody there. And Thank you Jessi for making it even more interesting!!! Thank you Aunt Barb and Uncle Tim for inviting us and letting us crash there. The boys and us had a great time! Sorry, but of course I forgot to take my camera out. So, there are no pictures of anything that night.
Sunday morning, we got up, ate, and left. We headed up to Letchworth State Park to meet my family for a FULL day at the park!!
This is when we first got there. It was taken at one of the scenic overlooks.
Xander made a friend while he was there. He did want to take him with us. But of course, the answer was "NO"!
Us in front of the upper falls.
This bridge used to allow trains to cross and people could go up on it. It is now closed off which is too bad because the view from here is spectacular!! This is the first time that I have been up here and could not go on the bridge. It just doesn't seem the same. This was always my favorite spot here.
The boys. None of them really wanted this picture taken.
The family in front of the middle falls.
While we were there, we found this fawn. Originally we thought that it was injured and we called the park police. They came to get it and said that she was a newborn, probably born that day and the mom was scared away by all the people immediately after giving birth. She was down the hill and the officer moved the fawn over near mom. I have never seen one this new.
How precious!
My niece, Breanne, and the boys.
I have seen a good many people jump off the top of this rock into the river in the past. Kind of crazy, I think.
Lower falls.
My dad lifting Xander over the mud. He just wanted to play in it and splash everybody else!! Come on Papa!!
My mom & I at the end of the day. Behind us is the lower falls.
I know that there is a lot of pictures, but it was a beautiful day and it just made for a lot of great pictures. We left the park around 9pm. The boys had a great time and it was so good to spend that kind of time with the family. I hope everybody had a great Memorial Day!!

Busy Weekend
Friday night we made another trip down home. We got there, and of course had another birthday party. This is my niece, Lena, the birthday girl, blowing out her candles. Sitting next to her is her brother, Alec. These are Sean's brother's kids.
Afterwards, the kids went out and threw airplanes off the balcony! The kids thought this was just the coolest thing their Poppy has let them do! They usually don't get to go out on the balcony. I left the party early to go see some of my family and help set up for the wedding reception.
So Saturday was the wedding day. It was a beautiful ceremony at a country club. They got married outside by the golf course. And here is a pic of the newlyweds! My cousin, Tim and his new wife Joellen.
My parents. They were the photographers for the wedding, but I made them put there cameras down so that I could get a good one of them. My mother wouldn't take it seriously!!
Me saying goodbye to my sister-in law in the middle (hope you like this picture better Deanna). My cousin, Amanda on the right (sister of the groom). She headed back to Tennessee the day after the wedding.
Saturday night, I had the honor of seeing the Moving Wall. The memorial for the soldiers lost in the Viet Nam war. This is my second time to visit this wall. I look at it with mixed emotions. I am sad for those who were lost, but yet relieved in so many ways that both our fathers, and others, made it back. This time I got to see it at night, which made it more breathtaking.
The previous pictures were all taken Friday and Saturday. I did not get pictures of us with our mothers on Sunday. And of course it was Mother's Day. But we were there. Sunday morning we had breakfast with Sean's mom and dad. Then his Gramma came for a short visit with all of us. Then onto an hour drive to my parent's house. Actually it was longer because we had to return bagpipes to a friend of Sean's who let him last minute borrow them so he could pipe at my cousin's wedding. Who asked the day before. Sean of course was honored and didn't think twice. Anyway, lunch with my family. And then headed back up home!
And here are some random pictures of the boys from the weekend.
And here are the boys, completely wiped out from the weekend!

Happy Early Mother's Day
Today, Lucas' class had a Mother's Day reception for all us moms! It was such a sweet gesture! I swear, he has the BEST teacher in the world!! We had cake, brownies, and punch. The kids had waited on us. He looked like such a little man making sure I had everything!
Then they did a little recital for us. They sang about three songs! It was so cute! Sorry for the fuzzy picture.
They made these little bags for each of their moms.
This is what was inside!! Isn't that so sweet?!!
They also made these little flowers. Each petal says something different that Lucas will have to do for me on Mother's Day. You know I will take full advantage of every single petal!! I even asked if I could use them more than once. The answer, of course, was NO!
I don't normally post my kids' crafts, but this was, by far, one of the sweetest things they have done so far. I just had to share!

Today is my birthday and a BIG thank you goes out to my friend Crescent who threw me a little birthday get together with the girls. It was such a sweet time. I am so blessed to have friends like these up here. I enjoyed the wonderful company and the boys had a good time with the other kids!
Here is a picture of the wonderful hostess herself.
Here are some pics of everyone having a good time!
Then, when the boys and I got home, there were flowers and dinner was pretty much done. So thank you to my wonderful husband, too!
