Warning Mommy Blogger...

Cute little smiles.

Being mesmerized by the ceiling fan. He loves them. We have them in every room and he just stares at him.

He really hates diaper changes.

This is where he sleeps if he's not in our arms.

So I'm now a mommy blogger, what can i say. The grandparents are far away and have to see what's going on. Someday when i start sewing again I'll at least have some craft stuff interspersed with baby stuff. Until then, skip it if you're not interested my feelings won't be hurt :)

Everyone loves him

Can you blame them?

Alice love him.

Ray Ray loves loves loves him!

Aunt Bridget love him!

Now that we've been home for a few days i think we're all getting used to each other. The first night was rough. Good thing grandma was here to help! The second night was not quite as bad. We have a great sleeper as long as he's being held; once we set him down he's awake. So we tried to get him comfy alone the second night. That didn't work and eventually i just slept with him on the couch. So for night three we said we'll just sleep with him on the couch. Then we'll get some sleep. Once he's more comfortable at home then we'll try teaching him how to sleep somewhere other than our arms. I've learned in these past few days that the best advice i could have gotten while pregnant about parenting would have been to never say never. Didn't really want to use a pacifier, did. Really didn't want to hold him all night, did. But really whatever works and gives us the most sleep is the best thing right now. I'm sure he won't be worse for it. We're learning a lot.

Isaac Xavier

Dad has already started playing games with his boy!

How cute is that?!

A few hours after the hard part.

Isaac Xavier
June 24, 2011
3:07am
6lbs 11 oz
19.5 inches

He was a bit of a surprise and he changed all our plans. Didn't think we'd end up having a baby yesterday but after our appointment it was decided that inducing would be the best option. I wasn't feeling him as much and when the did the non-stress test my fluid levels were a little low. So I started Pitocin at 11:30 am, made it until 10:30pm naturally. It was no longer worth it to me to try natural when at 9:30 i was only dilated to a 4 and the contractions were 2 minutes apart and intense. Got an epidural and relaxed the last few hours. Proud i made it as long as i did naturally on a super high dose of Pitocin and totally OK with the decision to give up that dream for this time! Grandma O and Aunts arrived just in time for the pushing and delivery. I pushed 50 minutes and then had this sweet baby! I love him. So does dad and grandma and aunts etc.

Quilt for my Aunt.

Front

Back

Huge feet and this was not after a day of travel. I would love to be able to see my ankles again, oh and see a cute little baby too.

So this quilt was a big first for me in that it was the first time i have ever free motion quilted. I think it turned out pretty good for my first time. There are plenty of mistakes and loads of room for improvement but just completing one quilt has made me feel more confident to try again. Aunt Becky, i hope you love it despite the mistakes. And PS it's pretty big so you can probably cuddle with about your whole family under it :)

Ensign Peak

We hiked Ensign Peak for our Young Men/ Young Women activity tonight. It's not a terribly difficult hike. About a mile round trip. A little steep at the beginning mostly but views well worth the hike. I decided that I would try to do it. And i did it! I'm sure I'll be super sore and tired tomorrow and maybe regret it but i did it! Felt pretty awesome for hiking at 9 months pregnant.

Silhouette. The sunset was amazing!

Yup pretty much all baby in there. You're welcome to come out anytime! Really wish that this hiking business had coaxed my body to start this thing but it feels pretty much the same as after my daily walk around the neighborhood. Sigh.

As promised, beautiful sunset!

Is it normal?

Is it normal to get really depressed a few weeks before you give birth? I know the hormones are going crazy and all but this is killing me. I'm always moody. I'm taking everything personally even when i know things aren't meant that way. Everything and anything can make my cry including Douche bag who was yelling at me today on the road because i couldn't get over to exit because other people wouldn't let me over. Does this mean I'm going to have issues with PPD after i deliver? What's other mom's experiences with this?

Last Hurrah!

So we decided to go to the drive in for one last big date before the baby comes. Last summer we went to the drive in about twice a month and it was one of our favorite things to do. We really wanted to go once this summer before the baby came. Check! We've been checking the listings for the perfect pairing and after waiting a month this pairing came up: X-Men 1st Class and Pirates. Perfect. After 20 minutes of weighing the pros (awesome movies/last big date) with the cons (being out until 2:30am and then having to get up to go to a Stake youth activity at 10am)(doesn't being a responsible grown up suck sometimes?) we pounced on the opportunity last night. After going so many times last summer we have the drive in down to a science. Our car is perfect for the drive in. We put the back seats down, load a futon mattress in the back, pack in some body pillows, bring all sorts of snacks and get comfy. The hatch back is awesome for the drive in because it's super comfortable and if there's a thunderstorm (like there was last night) you don't even get wet at all!

And in order to stay up until 2:30am i fell off the caffeine wagon for one night. That's right after not touching caffeine for 22 months i had one can of Dr. K last night. I guess it kept me up until the movies were over but i didn't really notice a huge difference between having caffeine and not. The baby didn't even act much differently. I am not, however, planning on drinking caffeine all the time like before so don't get excited Brad. :)

We highly recommend the drive in. It's a party and so fun to do by yourself or with friends! And now that we've gotten that out of the way feel free to come anytime baby!

P.S. Complete side note...if someone else who has my due date or any due date thereafter has already had their baby i don't want to hear about it. If it's not me i don't care. Think I'm going to have to tell that to the Young Women at church who have begun telling me about other people who are due in July who have already had their babies. Really I'm to the stage that hearing that makes me angry. That may be pathetic or petty but i don't care.

36 Weeks, Are we there yet?

Not pregnant. (I prefer this view.)

Very pregnant.

One of my mission companions from spain, Anna. We were able to spend a couple hours with her yesterday. She's great! And she'll be here for 2 months so she'll get to meet little Isaac too!

Check

Well his room is done. The crib is up, the rocker and dresser are in. Changing table is ready. Clothes are washed and in drawers. Other random stuff that was in there is gone. I think his room is ready for him.

And it's June! The month before he's due!
