To help celebrate the Easter season, we had a lesson about the days leading up to Christ's resurrection then made Resurrection Rolls. The day before Easter, we went to WX City's Easter egg hunt, then traveled to Eagle Mountain for Grandma Anderson's egg hunt, then instead of a roasted ham, we ate out and had Chinese! The next day was Easter morning. The Easter bunny came and left eggs scattered all over our house. Gavin and Alayna had fun dumping out their candy contents all into a bowl. We then watched a video of the Easter story, then went to church. The next day, (Monday) we dyed eggs - better late than never, right? We tried marbleizing them by adding oil. We all thought they turned out pretty cool.

We got out the puppets and had some puppet shows. Gavin absolutely LOVES puppets.
This was too precious not to take a picture of.

This 'n' That
For a Pre-K field trip, we took the kids on a field trip to Mrs. Cavanaugh's Chocolate factory right before Valentines Day. It was informative and delicious.
Matt developed and maintains the website for Soulence Tax and Accounting, his mom and brother's business. We went down to their office and took professional pictures of all the employees to put on the site. While there, I also snapped a few extra pics. I'm really enjoying the camera we got for Christmas.

After taking the pictures at Soulence, we were 1/2 way to Provo so we stood in the standby line for 2 seconds and went to the Provo City Centre Temple open house. It was just the 2 kids and me (Matt had to work).
A few years back, the Provo Tabernacle burned down. It was heartbreaking. I had stake conferences in that building for most of the time I lived in Provo. I also saw a good friend graduate from Provo College there, and remember as a child going there to listen to a stringed ensemble performance. It was beautifully filled with the pioneer heritage. I was so happy when President Monson announced the building would be turned into a Temple of the Lord!
As we walked through the majorly renovated temple, that same pioneer heritage was carried on in the beautiful winding staircase, tall doorways and narrow hallways. Even the exit signs were in 1800s print. Loved it.
The weather has been warm n cold so on the cold days we stay in and build huts,
have friends over to play,
or go to the Treehouse museum. (Kudos to you if you can find Curious George in the grand stand.)
And on the warmer days we've been getting out! Can't wait to start going for walks on a daily basis again!
I LOVE planning parties! Carrying them out is another story... but I love to pick a theme, think of all the details that could accompany it and then have fun creating everything for it. Gavin has asked for a Minion Birthday Party and here's my first creation:
A Minion Piñata!
(Total out of pocket cost: $1)
