Cookies and Punch Anyone?

Last weekend, we had a yard sale. Tan-Man and The Great Landino made quite the haul with their cookies and punch stand. Plus, we got rid of a lot of things we don't use any more, so in-all it was worth the effort.

In an attempt to move my stuff over to one side of the closet, I constructed this jewelry organizer. I love it. It hangs on the wall along-side my clothes and above my dresser. It makes good use of space. Plus, I can so easily pick out the necklaces and bracelets I want to wear that day. :)

I've been super busy getting everything ready for the wedding and trying to do it with frugality. So... fake flowers for the corsages and boutonnieres, but I think they turned out nice, and we won't have to worry about them wilting. ;)

Matt wants to do a candy table at the reception, so we've been gathering an assortment of glass dishes. (The best places to find these - Yard Sales!)

I even made my own bouquet, and other floral arrangements after watching online tutorials on how to do it. :)

Matt designed our announcement. I drew the decorative scroll, and Matt was able to plug it in digitally. We had them printed at Costco for a great price. This is just a rough copy, so ignore the spelling errors. If you haven't already given me your address, send it my way and I'll be sure to get one of these out to you!

Other things I've been doing to cut the cost:
1. Delivering as many announcements as possible - I figure I can ride my bike around Eagle Mtn and drop off announcements and work out all at the same time. :) (Today I saved $15 and burned 800 calories. DEAL!!!!)
2. Price matching EVERYTHING. This can get exhausting, but I think it's worth it - especially b/c it's summer and I have time to do it.
3. Matt's brother agreed to make the cake.
4. My mom altered my dress, although she says she may charge me for this.
5. We're using a family friend's back yard for the reception.
6. Matt's mom put together a sewing day where we all got together and sewed dresses for the nieces and bow ties for the nephews - soooo cute!
7. Matt's mom and sisters-in-law are making the refreshment for the reception.
8. Nanny-Poo agreed to do our photography - she is a SAINT!

In all, I've been having a lot of fun doing all this wedding stuff!

We just can't decide...

Matt and I had our engagement photos taken this past week. We had so much fun. Our photographer was excellent. We've narrowed it down to 2 photos and just can't decide between them. What do you think? Which should we go with?

Tan-Man Turns 5!

This weekend, Tanner turned 5 years old. Karen and Brian invited us over for a little celebration on Saturday. We ate a nice meal: grilled cheese sandwiches (Tan-Man's fav), BBQ ribs, corn on the cob, etc. Then Tanner opened his gifts:

Cousins

Me and Mateo Loco

Grandma brought a pinata for the kids to whack at.

Matt and I went to the Manti Temple afterward to scope out good picture-taking spots, do a session, and see the room where we'll be sealed. AWESOME!

Dad insisted on giving Matt and me a ride in the buggy.

Amber, Tyler and the boys had us over for Sunday tea (dinner). It was a great weekend. I've officially started my summer break!!!!!! Ahhhh.... I LIVE for summers!
