Trail of Lights

So even though it was 35 degrees last night (after a 40 degree drop from yesterday!) we went to the Trail of Lights. Thanks to the Kinghorns who were brave enough to join us!I had to laugh as I looked back through our Trail of Lights pictures. Here is us, the first year we went (2006). As you can see, Dustin and Carson aren't even wearing jackets! The next year, we dressed a little warmer (and this was the only jacket I could wear since I didn't have a maternity coat.)And finally this year, we couldn't have been more bundled up! You can barely see Jensen's little face. (The kids were such troopers, they never complained about the cold!) The lights were fun and we had a great time, even if we didn't get any fried Oreo's this year!
(P.S. Don't forget to be sending me your email addresses- we still want everyone we know to have access to our blog, just not the weirdo's we don't know!)

Going Private

So in the light of recent news and most importantly because someone left a creepy comment on this blog (twice!), I've decided to make this private for the safety of our family. I really hate doing this because I've enjoyed having the ability to reconnect with so many of you during the last year. Please send me your email addresses either as a comment here (which I will keep private), in my facebook inbox or by directly sending them to my email address so that I can begin the process of making this a private blog. Thanks for understanding!

Ward Christmas Party

Tonight was our Ward's Christmas Party. We had a great time (even if it was a little stressful trying to finish piano lessons, bake two hams, pack up two kids and get there on time and in one piece.) The youth did a live Nativity scene, which I played the piano for, so Jensen and Dustin had some good bonding time. (What a face!)Carson also had his very first Santa experience. I've never pushed it before, since I don't want that to become the focus of Christmas, and because Carson tends to be easily freaked out. But he did great. He walked right up there and when Santa asked him what he wanted for Christmas Carson said, "Uh, I want a piggy bank!" and Santa asked, "With money in it?"

Milestone Month

Jensen is 10 months old now! Before we know it our baby will be one year old, and all in what has seemed like the blink of an eye. My favorite trick of his now is clapping. He even makes "Kuh" sounds as he does it. His other words include "Da, a, da, a da" for Dad, "Ba" for ball and "Ra, a, ra, a ra" which he likes to just say for fun. Still no "Mama" but I'm working hard on that one!
And we just adore his big blue eyes. Everyone comments on them; family, friends, people at church, strangers at the grocery store, you name it! We love our little "Baby J."

Buda Fest

For those of you wondering what exactly "Buda Fest" is, it's pretty much a fair and carnival in our neighboring town of Buda, TX. (Oh the smart comments Dustin and I made about Buda before we moved here...my how time has changed things!) We walked around and checked out the local vendors, and took Carson to see all the carnival rides to see if any actually interested him. But there was really only one thing he agreed to do. Ride a pony! He was a pro! This pony's name was Caramel and Carson sat up and looked forward the whole time he rode. Whoa, is it just me or does my 3 year old look huge on that horse? (I know it's a pony, but he still just looks so big!)
