Therapy Thursday

So after a long day of playing mom and being totally bummed about my weekend plans, I needed some therapy. Nothing like getting both kids to sleep and snuggling up with Dustin to watch our favorite show. (The chocolate bar I ate probably didn't hurt, either.)
Ahh, there's just something about laughter that brightens up a gloomy day.
(And just in case next Thursday stinks too, it's comforting to know that my therapy will be there waiting for the rest of the season...unless there's another writers strike.)

My, How Quickly They Grow

Yup. That's my little Carson. And yes, my 3 year old is cutting apples. By himself. When did he get big enough to cut fruit? For heavens sake, the kid can barely dress himself!

Now don't go thinking I'm some crazy mom who just lets her kids wield cutlry at the drop of a hat. I was at a Pampered Chef party a month or so ago and I bought this kid friendly knife thinking that someday Carson would want to cut something, in which case I would need to provide him with an appropriate tool to do so. I didn't think he would be ready so soon! Carson is a funny kid, though. He does some things way behind other little boys his age (crawling, walking, climbing) and other things (like speaking, toilet training and coloring in the lines) he seems really excellerated at. I guess children are more than you could ever expect- in so many ways!

I Can See Clearly Now

So, I first got glasses when I was a junior in high school. But since I was only slightly near-sighted, I've really only ever used them for driving. That is until I realized how much my eye sight had changed. While we were in Utah this summer I finally splurged on a beautiful pair of prescription sunglasses. In order to get them, however, I had to get a doctors eye exam. I knew that my eyes had gotten worse over the years (particularly during my pregnancies!) and these new glasses proved it. My old glasses were not only out of style and scratched up quite a bit, but the prescription wasn't current at all. So after I lost my brand new (and pretty expensive - I might add) sunglasses I started thinking about just getting a new pair for everyday use. Enter Costco. Not only can you buy huge slices of awesome pizza and #10 cans of pineapple, but they have very affordable eye wear (that you do not have to buy in bulk). Now, I'm happy to say, I can see clearly again, without looking like a total dork (I hope).

7 Months

7 months have already come and gone. Jensen has continued to be such a good baby. (Even if he's not so hot about staying asleep at night!)
Here are some pictures that I took this morning of the boys. I feel really grateful that motherhood has blessed me twice, and with such wonderful children. They are always making me smile!
