Happy New Year

Hello everyone. I hope that everyone has a happy new year. I can't believe the year is already over. I hope that I can make this year better then last (not that last year was bad just improving life all the time in general). Also, I hope I do better at keeping my new years resolution. Have a fun new year!

But mom.....

I couldn't resist telling this story. If you are a little squeamish you probably should stop reading. My neighbor came to pick up Tucker for preschool. I told him he needed to hurry and get his coat on before he could leave for school. He then told me he needed to brush his teeth. I told him we just brushed his teeth 10 minutes ago. He then said "but mom, I ate some boogers". My neighbor thought it was so funny and I was just really grossed out and embarrassed. Sometimes I wish he was a little less candid about things.

My poor christmas tree.

My poor Christmas tree keeps getting assaulted by my one year old. It is now only decorated from the middle up and the lights are hanging off because he keeps pulling on them. He has to get into everything. I have given up fixing it and decided just move things were he can't get it. It doesn't look like the picture above any more. But at least he is enjoying the tree in his own way.

First snow fall

We finally got our first snowfall. It was only like a 1/4 of an inch and it is already melting but the kids thought it was so neat. Tucker really wanted to play in it but as you can tell there wasn't much to play in. That is what is left in our back yard. But I am sure we will have enough for Tucker to play in soon. From what I understand we are suppose to get slammed with snow this next week. I was expecting it sooner because we usually have snow in Oct. but I am not complaining because they don't take care of the roads here.

Family night fun!

For family night this week are activity was building a gingerbread house. It was a lot of fun. We were all able to contribute and I think it turned out really nice. Tucker really liked doing it and he kept eating the candy for the house. Good thing we had extra.

Twilight movie

On Saturday I went and saw Twilight with my mom and sister. I was actually really looking forward to the movie because I loved the books so much. I have to say it was not as great as I wanted it to be. I will give it a solid 3 stars just because they stuck to the story so well. It defiantly could have been better but maybe with the money they got on this one they can do a little more with the next one. Also I wouldn't be terrible upset if they replaced Edward with someone a little cuter.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I realize that this is late but I hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving! It is one of my favorite holidays. I got to go stay at my parents for thanksgiving and also my grandparents came which was really nice. I don't get see them very often so that was a nice surprise. The kids had a great time. We got to hang out, play a little rock band and eat some yummy food.

Kung Fu!

It has been a long time since I have posted anything. I haven't had a chance to get on my blog till today. On Saturday night we had a family party (just the kids, Blaine and I). Tucker kept begging to have a party. So, we rented Kung Fu Panda and had ice cream on cones. Tucker thought it was so cool that he got to eat the ice cream on a cone. We had a really good time and we really enjoyed the movie. Tucker now thinks he is a kung fu tiger. He is quite an imagination.

Trick or Treat!

Tucker and Sawyer had a blast trick or treating this year. Sawyer still doesn't know quite what is going on but he liked being with the big kids. It was so fun to watch Tucker run from house to house. He really got into it this year. He especially liked having his cousins Gabe and Lily go with them. They have alot of fun together. Tucker was Optimus Prime and Sawyer was Yoda.

Halloween fun!

We had alot of fun this Halloween. We got to spend all of Halloween weekend at grandmas. I know I am posting my Halloween pictures a little late but I just got around to doing it now. Here are some pictures of Tucker decorating cookies with his cousins. They had a really good time. They made little mummy cookies. Also there are some pictures of Tucker carving a pumpkin. He drew the face on the pumpkin all by himself. We had a heck of a time carving the face though. The pumpkin was rock hard. We had to recruit Uncle Ryan to do it. Good thing he was home.

Happy 1st Birthday Sawyer!!!

On Sunday Sawyer turned 1! I can't believe how fast it went. He is getting so big. We sure love having him around. He is such a good boy. He really had a good time at his birthday party. He got scrambled eggs and hashbrowns for dinner (it's his favorite). He also got a big piece of birthday cake all for himself. Her are some of his birthday pictures.

Let's get out of here!!!

Every year the local high school does a haunted school bus for children ages 4-8. We decided that we take Tucker to go through it. He was so excited and was talking about it all week. He kept telling me he was going to be brave and not be scared of the ghosts. So last night we went to take him to go through the bus (along with our neighbors and there 4 yr old daughter). We got to the bus and I decided to send Blaine in with the kids. I went to wait at the end of the bus were they come out. We waited for awhile and no one came through. Then we saw them coming back out the front of the bus. Apparently once they started the music inside the bus Tucker's eyes got big and he said "Dad, let's get out of here!" Blaine tried but couldn't get the kids to go through. We laughed the whole way home about it. When we got home Tucker told me he just went to look and that's it. He is so funny. Maybe next year.

Good book

I just finished reading The Secret Life of Bees. It was a pretty good and interesting read (except all the swearing). I thought it was kind of sad at times but it ended well for all the characters and had a good message. I would recommend reading it (if you don't mind the language). I think the movie for this book comes out this weekend. I would like to go see it. I hope they stay pretty close to the book.

Pumpkins and parachutes

Tuckers preschool went to the pumpkin patch the other day and they
all got to bring home a pumpkin. I went to pick Tucker from preschool and watched the other kids come out with this huge pumpkins and here comes Tucker with a small mostly green pumpkin. He said the other pumpkins just didn't look right.
Yesterday he decided to make a parachute for one of his dinosaurs. So he got a t-shirt and tied strings to the t-shirt and the dinosaur. He kept throwing trying to get it to float but of course it didn't. He looked at me and said "Mom, I think the fabric is to heavy and the t-shirt doesn't spread out". I told he would need to figure out how to make it work. So he put it on his head so the fabric would stay spread out.

Bath time and gymnastics

Sawyer really loves bath time. Yesterday he wanted to get in the tub so bad with Tucker he got in with all his clothes on.

Tucker had gymnastics (or as Tucker would say guhnastics) yesterday. He goes every Tuesday and really likes it. He gets to do the beam, jump on the trampoline, swing on the bar, and Tucker's favorite; jumping of the vault. He gets to play with other kids and burn a little extra energy. Tucker is wearing the white shirt in the picture.

Figuring out the blog thing.

I am terrible at posting stuff on here. I have free time when my kids are napping but usually that is when I have to do all the things I couldn't do when they are awake. I am trying to do better with it. So stay tuned.

The going's on of our family.

I thought I had better put something down on our blog. Here is a little about our family. Blaine and I have been married for almost 6 years and have two wonderful little boys. Tucker is four and is a very active and creative little boy. He loves playing outside, playing with his brother, riding his bike, playing with his dog Koda, and doing anything his dad does. He is always making us laugh. Sawyer is 11months and definitely independent. He is his own person. He is very sweet and smiley and loves following Tucker everywhere. He is also very mischievous. Always doing things he knows he shouldn't and when you catch him he tries to run away as fast as he can. Little turkey!! We have a lot of fun together. I wish I could be with them every second.
