why can't finals be final?

Just finished statistics as my first paper today, and four more excruciating papers to go. We're lucky enough that we were given 3-4 days to spare before each consecutive paper at least the administration did something right for once.

Regrets and guilt starts setting in for not being well prepared during the 3 preparatory weeks which I admittedly wasted in downloading movies and english series (and shall I say, it was undoubtedly my best 3 weeks ever for this year).

I still love House MD, never a dull moment when he's on screen. Heroes is superb. Prison Break? Impeccable.

More entries soon, better get back to my tutorials and start working up that brain of mine.

toodles, 16 days and counting to kuching babeh!

Natalie Imbruglia - Glorious

Walking down the Frith Street
Dawn is creeping up on me
Some girls tears in a taxi
Five o'clock shadows drinking coffee

So this is what it feels like
This is how it feels, now I'm finally smiling on the inside
This is what it looks like
This is how it looks from the outside staring in

And it's glorious just to laugh like us
And the world will turn, it'll never stop
'Cause I've got nothing to hide
And we've got nothing to lose, oh yeah

And it's glorious, and it's all I see
On a day like this you know it's meant to be
Now i've got nothing to find
And I've got nothing to lose but you
And it's glorious

Drinking wine back in my house
Remember someone said your name
I somehow lost the conversation
I've fallen a million miles away

So this is what it feels like
This is how it feels when you're finally walking on the inside
This is what it looks like

This is how it looks from the outside staring in

And it's glorious just to laugh like us
And the world will turn, it'll never stop
'Cause I've got nothing to hide
And we've got nothing to lose, oh yeah

And it's glorious, and it's all I see
On a day like this you know it's meant to be
'Cause I've got nothing to hide
And I've got nothing to lose but you

Keep wanting a little, a little more
Keep walking, keep walking
Keep getting a little, a little more
Keep running, keep running

Mmmmmm, walking down the Frith Street...

And it's glorious, just to laugh like us
And the world will turn, will never, never stop
'Cause I've got nothing to hide
And we've got nothing to lose, oh yeah

And it's glorious, and it's all I see
On a day like this I know it's meant to be
'Cause I've got nothing to find
And I've got nothing to lose but you
And it's glorious

The first time I heard this song, the lyric struck a chord in me. It was all that I ever wanted, to know how it feels like smiling on the inside and to be able to truly laugh on the outside. As melodramatic as I sound, the thought of being yourself with nothing to lose and and nothing to hide is indeed, truly glorious.

life this semester

My life this semester, hmm...

short pants? slippers? and T-shirts in campus!?

It's a different one compared with previous semesters. For this semester, I dare say I pushed myself to the limit in my study time. Imagine staying up late at night till u lose track of time or hearing the azan prayers almost every single time. However, I'm glad that all those efforts paid off despite of those newly formed eyebags and slothy habits (which I am aware of).

Apart from that, I was involved in being one of the committee members in organizing our university's first ever chinese ball night event. Since it's the first, we weren't expecting much but it turned out well and I get to dress up for the first time in Malacca for an actual event (imagine how excited I was hehe).

test tube souvenirs anyone?

Although I was in charge during the reception and the souvenirs, I still had time to laze around with my coursemates during the event.

all dressed up for the night

One thing that I seem to can't get my mind off till now is the number of people telling me how good I look and whether I would mind taking photo with them. Not that I'm implying that I'm a variant of a "tom-cruise-edison-chen" hybrid, it's just that I don't (well... never actually) often get compliments like that and I really didn't know how to respond. It felt awkward like a total out-of-my-element kinda thing. However, I do apologize if my words were a little not well-suited for the occasion. Blame my years of deprived training.

Another highlight was the Poster and Product competition, where we were asked to present an idea of a product to 3 judges and being assessed. The objective was to cultivate students with the confidence in english speaking and presentation skills. For this one, I really have to give all the credits to the group members for their efforts and sacrifice despite of the exam week during the competition.

the gang

we got 1st prize!

Also, for the mid-autumn festivals or better known as the lantern festival, this year as a 2nd year senior, we were obligated to organize a mooncake festival to bond with the new juniors and the seniors as our seniors did last year.

The event was successfully organized. However, since it's the first time the committee members organized an event like this, grand hall or fancy dishes are out of the question, but still, it's the process that matters. This is the first time I guess seeing all the 2nd year seniors working together for an event (you don't see that very often here).

In the end, we all went for dinner at a local cafe restaurant a few nights ago which is also the last day of class to express gratitude to all committee members.

no money arh, how to go dutch?

Now we've gone into our 3 preparatory weeks for our finals till the end of october for my first subject. STATISTICS! ARgHhHHH..! It's been three days and I've been surfing and torrent-downloading Heroes season 2 and Prison Break season 3.

Feeling so guilty... more posts soon

back on track

After months of excruciating suffering and the pain of being isolated from the internet world, finally we have internet access in the comfort of our own room. No more long walks to cybercafes, ridiculous internet speeds from the computer room.

Relieved and content as I am now, as a bonus we've just finished our lectures and now we have 3 preparatory weeks for the final exams starting today.

I'm confident enough to say that my blogging life is back on track and I am no longer deprived from the internet (apart from the unstable connections).

Expect a few highlights that've been going on since my last entry date till now..

InterNet BabEh~~!
