till the present day

People! I'm back to Kuching for chinese new year and things have been less pressuring ever since I got back here and at least I finally found my breathing space.. I've been really really really busy with a handful of assignments, research, mid-term and reports till I couldn't even have time for myself and I swear I god I was about to suffocate.

So instead of reading boring texts and long-winded sentences, I'll just post up a few photos about what I did for the past few weeks. Enjoy...

My university changed it's name from KUTKM to UTeM officially effective after the 1st of February 2007.

I strolled around Malacca shopping for clothes and stuff, been a while since I had the time to "go around".

Then the unofficial chinese society organized a joint-faculty gathering at d'Village for a pre-CNY gathering, it was fun and too bad for those who missed it. Below is a group photo of the event with my coursemates and seniors.

the only four chinese girls in my class,

I constructed my first logic circuit on a logic trainer,

While waiting for the next lecture, we watched a football match using one of the projectors in the lecture room,

..... played by Kam Wah

Bought a new wallet from Malacca, new year, new wallet...

What I've been looking at for the past few weeks every night...

and I survived the night sometimes with my only companion,

Oh, and last but not least, I broke my phone (don't ask how), just so you know if u called me next time and u can't hear me, bear in mind I'm trying to communicate by all means through a panasonic A100 mini phone with a faulty microphone and a rubber band which is the only thing preventing it from falling apart.

and of course I'm getting a new phone...... soon

new eye wear

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

and yes, I've made myself a new pair of specs from Swatch. I did it when I was back in Kuching and never had the chance to blog about it. So here it is. Before, I used contacts, it was so troublesome in putting it on and taking it out. Besides, I think most of the people here should be getting sick of the color contacts that I was using for the past few months.

Well, at least I have some variations for eye wear accessories. Photo courtesy of my housemate, Jit's cameraphone.

road block

Frankly speaking, I've started to lost interest in blogging anymore. Blame the endless internet congestion, disconnection and all the tedious process that we had to go through just to have a single reliable and stable internet connection which is now still ridiculous.

The long waiting had stripped me away from my enthusiasm and interest in everything relating to http://beaned.blogspot.com. I've also noticed the decline of daily visitors to my blog, not that I care about the numbers because really don't. It just seem futile wasting time writing stuff and posting it on the internet expecting random internet surfers to read what u wrote.

Blame it on my overwhelming study load and assignments, or the constant internet difficulties that I have to face each day. It could even be a shift in my personality, I can't really make it up. I just find it pointless. As hard breaking as it sounds, I might resort to closing down my blog in the future.

Blogging has really helped me through the past crucial two years as a medium to express my inner vex or thoughts that concerns my well-being. So so many stuff had happened before, and no one was really there to back me up when I was falling apart, but my blog. I try so hard to be everyone's support system and never had time to develop one for myself. This is where I find sanctuary, this is where I commit to who I really am and login into a naked world of my own below this ever so joyous facade of mine.

I think this is the one of the times I've ever been honest about myself in blog entries.

1st film review assignment

The first week of class already we were given heaps of assignments and work for the semester. For Tamadun Islam, we were told to submit a movie entry to write a film review on it. However, the lecturer said that the movie was open to any categories which was really weird as he didn't mention anything remotely relating to religion or Islam. So the first thing that came up in my mind was the movie V for Vendetta.

Frankly, I can't wait to get started!

Tuesday, January 2

I'm now glad to declare that desmond ngo is back in action! With internet access at the tip of my fingers and an overwhelming urge for more blogging. Albeit being 1 day late to blog for new years compared to last year which was 6 days, I take my defense. Be warned from this point on you will encounter extremely boring updated entries about me myself. So.. uh, I warned ya!

First and foremost, I'd like to wish everyone merry christmas and a happy new year 2007. I wasn't able to do anything to get online from the earthquake at taiwan and the whole mojo internet access stuff we had to go through. After I landed in malacca on christmas morning, I was literally separated from the whole world with the sad realization of how vulnerable I was. It was ugly, imagine an addicted junkie with their supply of drugs cut off for one whole week. Anyway, be glad that things are back as it was before.

Let's talk about christmas, I'm not that of a religious person that believes in the birth of god and stuff, so let's stop right here. Last year during christmas night, I was involved in a car accident and I must strongly stress that I did not not purposely or so much attempt to drift, it was raining and the slippery road was a 200+ degree curve. I was driving my aunt's beetle because that was the only car which wasn't blocking the other cars and I was late for the gathering at alexis' after work. But I was glad I did, because if I was driving a buatan malaysia vehicle, the crash with the lamp post would've sent me straight to the underworld rather than scars and bruises. You'd be reading the words on my gravestone and not this entry. I posted an entry about it in the January 2006 archives.

This year, I celebrated christmas all for the sake of the event in kuching, in mid air and finally in malacca. The day before we went to some local clubbing venue with a wei khee, clarissa and a few friends for the eve celebrations, lazed around for around 30 minutes then we had a simple kopitiam gathering while the clock strikes 12 on christmas. Then the next day was my flight back to malacca.

Now my new year this year, last year was pretty much a breeze through new year, no countdowns, no resolutions set, no huge celebrations whatsoever. However, I'm glad that this year I got to go KL down to sungai wang for the new year countdown with alexis and chee hong along with a few friends. I'd have post some photos but din get the photos yet. The countdown was sadistically ugly and amazingly fun. I tell you, nothing beats the feeling of spraying confetti strings and artificial self-dissolving snow flakes at strangers around you without worrying getting punch on the face. After the clock strikes 12, it looked as though it was snowing for the first time in Malaysian history right in front of sungai wang plaza. It was an experience to remember. However, the next day was another problem on getting a bus ride back to Malacca, I gave up and took the last minute RM15 bus ride available from Puduraya to Malacca even though I knew the standard bus fare was RM9.50. F**king blood suckers.

Well, the past is the past, it's time to look forward for new visions and new anticipations. This for me is the meaning of life. Looking forward to year 2007.

Will update soon..
