Bees Game

On Wednesday night we were able to go to the Bees game.  My dad got tickets for us from his work.  I was so excited to go and sit behind the little net thing they have behind home plate.  I'm always a little nervous at ball games with fly balls flying into the crowds.  Plus we were in the shade for the entire time.

Luke found his cars in the bag and had them out.  He would play with them and then line them all up so they could watch the game.  It was fun to watch him.

My feeling safe behind the net was short lived when a ball came flying over it and hit the press box behind us and landed in Zach's glove.  Zach was very excited to have finally caught a foul ball.

The kids were obsessed with finding the Bee.  When we were getting ready to leave Zach took the girls to find the bee.  They got their picture taken with the Bee and also got Zach's ball signed by the Bee.
It was a fun night.  I'm glad that we were able to go.  We had to leave before the game was over since the girls are still in school and it was a school night.

Thanks Dad for getting us the tickets!!

Chalk Art

Last Saturday we had made plans to go down to the Gateway and see the Chalk Art.  The weather didn't cooperate for us.  We were just going to forget about it but while out running errands we decided to run down there and see what we could see.  What we saw was pretty cool.  It amazes me what these people can do.  If they were done they were covered with plastic bags to protect them from the rain.  Here's hoping that next year we'll be able to enjoy it.

While we were downtown we had to get in a train ride for Luke.  He's been asking me to take him for a ride on the big train and so we just road it for a couple of stops and then road it back to the Gateway.  I'm glad we were able to get out and go even if it wasn't as good as the last time we went.

Temple

On Friday we had tickets to the Open House for the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. We were meeting up and going through with Grandma and Grandpa. Haley got sick so she stayed home with Zach. She had a really hard time, she didn't want to miss it. I had already been there twice as an usher and was so excited to take the kids. Luke told me his favorite part was the pictures and the cookies after the tour. Emmy loved finding animals in the paintings on the wall in some of the rooms. It is so fun to see their excitement when they get to go through. I'm hoping that we make an impression on them so that they'll want to go back. I'm almost sad that I won't be going with Haley, as her and Zach have a daddy daughter date to go next week.

Emmy's Program

Last Friday Emmy had her Kindergarten program. It was fun to go and see her sing her songs and recite the poems. She's been working so hard all year to learn the songs. She loved coming home and singing them to Haley and Luke. Luke was so used to going and getting ice cream after Haley's two programs that he wanted to go after Emmy's. But it was too early for ice cream.

Emmy

Remember this post.  I didn't buy the picture.  I just didn't see the need.  Today I took Emmy into her end of year testing and she came home with a completion certificate and one of her graduation pictures.  I'm so happy.  I love her smile in the picture.  Now if I could just get her to smile like that when Zach takes her picture...

Zoo

Yesterday we met up with Jill and kids for a trip to the Zoo.  I'm so glad the weather cooperated so that we could go.  I took Haley out of school just before lunch so she didn't miss much.  We had a good time.  Thankfully I finally got a decent night sleep so I could function and do this.

Luke was dancing to the music and Ian joined in.
Of course you can't pass up pictures of the kids measuring up to the apes.  They tried making there best monkey faces.

At one point Luke would not be happy until we made it to the train and went for a ride.  He was a little nervous at first but did end up enjoying the ride.
The best part of the outing was when Luke saw a sign in front of the elephants.  There is a picture of a Zoo Keeper taking care of the elephant or something.  Luke ran up to the picture and pointed to the guy and said, "That's my dad."  (The guy has the same hair as his dad.)  The picture didn't turn out too good but it was pretty funny.
I'm glad we were finally able to go to the Zoo again.  I think the last time we went was six years ago when Emmy was a baby.

5K

On June 6th we ran a 5K down in Springville.  Originally Zach was going to run with the girls while I ran it as fast as I could.  But as luck would have it I got sick with a nasty cold and so I wasn't feeling like running it.  So Zach ran by himself and set a PR and I ran with the girls.  The girls did so good.  I think if Emmy could have she would have ran the whole thing but Haley was struggling a little and needed some walk breaks.  I did ok, considering the no sleep due to being up all night coughing.  The highlight of the run was at mile 2 when they got to get some water.  Emmy was so excited to be able to "liter".  She threw her cup to the ground with such excitement.   I forgot to take the garmin to get our actual time.  The clock said something around 36 minutes but it took us a couple of minutes to get to the starting line.  We had so much fun running and are looking forward to doing it again next year.  Maybe one of these years we'll get a nice door prize.

Times Up!

So I've been a little sick this last week and haven't taken a chance to update.  We only had three guesses on how much we spent and no one was right.  The guesses were $3, free, and $6.  We actually only spent $1.74.  We had coupons to get the ice cream for free.  The lemonade and Koolaid were on sale for $0.99 and then we had coupons for those.  The lemonade ended up being $0.25 each and the Koolaid was $0.50 each.  We saved 93%.    I love getting things for so cheep.
