I think this is a tough one to weigh in on depending where you come from. If I lived somewhere where the news talked about school shootings a lot, I might want my child to have a phone.
Go after the companies making addictive applications instead.
I like games that go pew pew, I play them on my Switch.

Oh heck yeah I’ll get that

Des makes really good vids, but they are so chill I have to watch them in two parts or I start to doze off.
Caught up with some movies this week (Obsession, Disclosure Day), looked into getting a Switch 2 (nope, not gonna happen, €430, should have bought it at launch), might order an Everdrive for my Game Boy… Went to a beach, got a sunburn, normal hot weather stuff…

I would be too. I also think the weather will damage them, and they will be targets for petty vandalism.

Were there other propositions? Was there a call for tenders or a vote of some sort? Maybe the locals love the idea? After all, there are other silly things in the prairies, even giant hoes…

Unfortunately, it isn’t real…

Probably. Paris Marx just wrote a post about Musk that reminds me of this a bit https://disconnect.blog/elon-musks-tired-schtick/

Why bother talking to guys like Sam? Why print what they say?
He isn’t even an AI expert, his own employees have said so. He is just the adman.

Another video review from Retro Tuna (Invidious). They say they did manage to “pull off” a good widescreen shmup.

Truxton Extreme is not only an outstanding shmup, but it also sets a new benchmark for how to bring back cult series of the genre into the current age. Very high marks on graphical effects, sound design, and soundtrack along with spot-on gameplay makes it easy to recommend adding this one to your Switch 2 library as soon as possible. Both veteran shmup players and newcomers alike will find much to enjoy in this package. 9/10

Vertizontal, 3D graphics, and loads of “content” to unlock… And DLC’s too?
I would have paid for a new 2D Truxton, but I guess when you’re owned by Embracer you have to lean into modernity.
This isn’t on my wishlist, but I’m happy to see the franchise continue.

You’ve probably seen it, but David Revoy is an artist that uses Krita and makes videos on the subject.
I like sites like this. I’m always worried that they can be used by LLMs as a resource for scraping non-slop content.
Too bad for the overtime. Slow week here, luckily not near any of the fires. Played a bit of Viral Reload EX.
Played for 1.5 hours on Switch. Cannot get past level 3 on story mode (skill issue, not an issue with the game).
(Edit: took me a long-ass time to get past level 3… Like nearly 3 hours)
This is a wave-based shooter à la Galaga/Space Invaders. If you get hit, the wave starts over. The order of the waves varies too. Very arcade-y.
Everything works well, little things to unlock (e.g. music tracks, boss rush), boss practice mode (thank you!), some humour in the story mode, cool music and pixel art.
Definitely worth the full price.
Same here. Happens with updates too.

Just hype to distract from the fact that they cannot turn a profit.
Holmes (Theranos) made promises too.

I was thinking about a shooting that happened in Norway. Some of the children called their parents. It didn’t stop anything horrible from happening, but they left the world knowing they were loved.
