Last 2 emails
The last 2 weeks of emails have been really short. Trent forgot to tell us that his p-day would be on a tuesday instead of the usual Wednesday so we didn't get a letter sent off to him. So he didn't report back much. Then the following week they had the missionaries take a Monday p-day. Again we didn't get the memo. We did get a short email this morning letting us know that he was shipping his bike home today and that this last week will be "busy and crazy".
He's excited to see everyone next week!

Happy Birthday!
Trent had his 21st Birthday on Sunday. Trent reports that on Friday he got an early birthday present of a snow storm. They had 5-6 inches. The southerners don't really know what to do with snow. But Elders from up north do know how to handle that much snow.
On Sunday Trent had 2 different dinner appointments. One of the appointments even baked a cake. "It was pretty darn fun".
"Well things are going well. We have been working hard. Things are going well. Nothing new. We are working good together."

Week Ending February 10th
Another new companion this past week. Elder Lawrence is fresh from the MTC and went to Highland High. Trent said the apartment got a lot smaller but everything else is good. He will be a good missionary. They may not be staying together for long because the mission usually doesn't keep threesomes together.
Trent said they found a "cool couple". His name is Hamilton and also his fiance. They came to church last week and they are teaching them. They also found a great guy who is struggling with his church that they are starting to teach.
Trent's mission is having a mission wide conference this week (friday). He was pretty excited about it. It's the first time his mission will be all together in one place. They are having some speakers from the MTC. He will let us know how it goes.
We will have to see what the week holds.

Week Ending February 3rd
Trent is really happy with his new companion, Elder Parkhurst. He went to Layton High School but grew up in Tabiona, Utah. Trent thinks they make a good companionship. Then he got a call from the mission president letting Trent know that he would be getting an additional companion, fresh from the MTC. Apparently he can't get his visa and is being reassigned to the Mississippi Jackson Mission. They were picking him up on p-day and Trent thought his first meal should be some fried catfish.
Trent reports that they taught a combined Priesthood relief Society meeting. He said that it went well and now they are teaching 4 new part member families. He is busy these last few weeks, working hard and having fun too.

a few old pictures
We haven't had new pictures for a while and probably won't see any until Trent's home. So I dug up a few old ones, just for fun.

Transfer Week.
Trent is staying put for his last transfer but is getting a new companion. He is Elder Parkhurst. He is from Layton and has been out about 3 months. As of the email on Thursday, Trent hadn't met him yet but had heard good things about him. He hopes he is ready to work hard this last transfer.
They continue to work with the same people but also some more part member families.
While at the ward mission leaders house Sunday night, they saw the overtime of the New Orleans game. He said the people down there are going crazy over the Saints and the big game.

Update
All is well for Trent. Thursday is his last transfer day. He thinks he's staying put but doesn't know what's happening with his companion. We will see when he emails on Thursday.
They are continuing to teach Lasandra. It is going very slow with her. They are also still working with a young couple that is a part member family. They both attend church each week but she is extremely shy and wants to take it slow.
Trent reports that they are very well taken care of in this area. He had fried deer last week and it was pretty tasty.

Week Ending January 6th
It's been cold in Mississippi. At least for usual. We are still working with Lasandra. She is doing alright but having a few issues with family that are making her think through things.
We had an interesting experience with a dog this week. We helped a lady chase down her dog for about 20 minutes. My companion almost got bit. Another good week.
A funny missionary picture for you to enjoy!
