Yesterday was a big day at our house. Genevieve had her first day of preschool. She was so excited about it. We had practiced for it a couple of times the week before and been playing school at home in preparation for the big day. She has been wanting to go to school for months, now, and talked about it a lot. As she waited for Daddy to finish his breakfast so that he could take her yesterday, she ran laps around the kitchen in anxious excitement. Classic with her social personality, she had no problems saying good-bye and heading to class. As Dave said, it's probably harder on us. We are excited for our cute big girl!

15 pounds 4 ounces
I took Brooks to the doctor earlier this week due to having eating problems. For a good week he would often be anxious and due to eat, yet pull off in pain, leaving mom in the same state. You wouldn't believe it, though, as he weighed in at, yes, 15 lbs. 4 oz. The boy isn't having any problem gaining weight! The doctor said Brooks has set a new record for all of his years of practice for weight gain. Even if he's having trouble eating, he's definitely not starving!

One Month Old
Brooks has been a part of our family for one month, now. If you look at his size it's hard to believe that he is only one month old. Yet, as he still works on gaining control of his head and little body, it is quite obvious. He is a joy to have around. We are all still working on adjusting to the addition in our family, but we love it! Here are a few things about Brooks.
1. He gives the biggest smiles as he fades in and out of sleep, and does the cutest sly half smiles.
2. He is rather easy going for the most part. His crying is usually for a reason and can be calmed with a little work.
3. He seems to like his big sister and her (sometimes overboard) loving attention; thank goodness!, because she definitely loves him and trying to help him.
4. He likes to eat and is growing fast. He currently weighs over 13 pounds.
5. He, actually, sleeps. His sister didn't do much of that; it's a good change.
In his one month of life, Brooks has met a fair amount of family. Dave's parents came down as soon as he was born, and we later said good-bye to my mom who came to help us for two weeks. My sister Catherine came out with her little boy to help during the third week; Genevieve was in heaven to have a constant little playmate. Dave's sister's family and niece and nephew of his other sister all came down to visit, too. Plus, several friends who have come to visit or help us. It's been an eventful month and, definitely, worth every bit of it!
