I feel that this is a good title to start of my blog moment for the month of February. I've had a few things on my mind that I should release to someone other than Will because he's still working on his basics like mom, dad, eat, etc. I would like to start out with Holladay, Utah.
Oh really Holladay city? Where's my mall?!? Where is it? You mean to tell me that you're going to tear down our only shopping location and put up promises and pictures of happiness and joy. Remember the countless stores, adorable bistros, possibly Crate and Barrel not to mention all the streams and fountains running through the streets? Well, now we have a big dirt pile! That's like putting crab legs and chocolate in front of me for 5 minutes only to come back and say, "Sorry, that's not yours--you can eat these beets". Moving on...
Oh really Sinclair on 4500 South? When did you decide to go out of business? I pull up to pump some gas today and somehow missed the large for sale sign out front along with the yellow bags on all pumps saying out of order. I guess the fact that their prices were about 30 cents higher than everyone else should have been a sign. What about me? What about the convenience of having a gas station I could coast down to every time I ran out of gas? Now I'm going to have to coast all the way down to Tesoro on 2300 east and that's a lot more coasting. Oh, and then I'll have to pass Jiffy Lube where they are always standing outside with their "Open Bay" signs and I'm always going to feel guilty about how I really need to get an oil change but I don't want to take the time or spend the money on something so boring.
Oh really Economy? I'm not quite sure who to blame exactly for this so I'll just go with everyone else that refuses to take responsibility for their own life and blame ALL government parties. I'm not biased one way or the other. So you're going to dangle really inexpensive homes, cheap cars and great spring clothing lines in front of my face at really affordable prices only to take away my income so I can't buy anything anyway. Is that fair? The second I have income flowing in again all the prices will be up as well. So cruel. I will compare this to tying a piece of chocolate on a stick in front of my face and no matter how fast I run I will never catch it. That's an easier thought to think about in my head than write.
That's as far as I'll go for now. I've actually had a great day with Will. We went to the dinosaur museum for the first time and it brought out even more of my nerd factor. I'm so fascinated by dinosaurs--always have been. I think I enjoyed digging for bones and playing dinosaurs in muddy water more than Will did. I might be embarrassing him already before the age of 2. He said "I know mom" the other day when I said he needs to eat his cheerios. I also told him it was snowing in which he replied again, "Mom, I know". So much attitude. He takes after Mike. The best moment of them all was the other day when he wanted me to go upstairs to his room. I told him I couldn't because I was cleaning up breakfast and he said, "Mom, want a cookie? want a cookie?" He bribed me. And to my dismay there was no cookie at the top of the stairs. It was his way of getting me into his room to get down some toys and blankets. So manipulative--just like Mike again. That dad of his is such a bad influence. :) Oh boy, can't wait to add more manipulative (but hilarious) little ones to the Rogers clan. Only 10 more weeks until Roger #2 comes along. Look out!
