And Time Marches On...

Life has certainly taken over the status of our blog. In January, we resumed occupancy in our own home. Which means we have returned to our same friendly ward. Enough time has passed now that I have somewhat adapted to the change and started a new routine. Thus, I can now say that it's good to be back! Brian learned on his first day back at at the firm that they are sending him to work in a different city through May. Guess what city? It couldn't possibly be a neighboring community to where we just moved from, could it? Yep! It is. That's right...move down there, commute up here. Move up here, commute down there. It was a little bit of a bummer at first, but so far, things are running as smoothly as snag-free panty hose. We would've enjoyed a little extra income from renting our home out a little longer and saving on gas, but like I say, we've adjusted. Occasionally, the little man and myself will join Brian on his daily commute and hang out with my parents while he slaves away. But, he isn't bitter about it because it makes his commute to and fro much more lively.

I was transferring some pictures from our camera to the computer today and realized that our little buddy has changed so much. Crazy! I couldn't believe how much our buddy has grown in the last six weeks or so since we've been back. Don't worry, I'll quite babbling soon enough and post the pictures to prove it. He is four months old and growing like the weeds that have spontaneously taken up residency in our yard. He had an appointment last week and did great with his injections. He was 18# and 26". 92nd and 69th percentiles...and don't worry, I'm not bragging about that, I just included it so I can remember it some day.

I've just been busy trying to get us all settled into place and getting our home up to speed. Thankfully, we had really responsible tenants and our home is in pretty good shape. I am attending to the things that get overlooked by tenants. I guess that is the difference between ownership and rentor-ship (yes, I'm making up words). Ownership pushes one to further limits and instills a certain sense of pride. Case in point, our yards are in some serious need of TLC and pruning. We're just happy they're still green for the most part, and it feels good to turn these rusty thumbs green again. Some detailed cleaning is also in order...but who has the energy for that? I love to do that kind of stuff, it's just hard to find the motivation when you've got a cute little specimen to occupy your attention instead.

Enough of the hot air! Let the picture diary commence!

This is shortly after we moved here and our boy it just getting used to the johnny jumper. He's gonna love this in the months to come. Thanks to Aunt Rebecca for letting us borrow it!

We started our day of work in the yard enlisting McRae's help. But after a few minutes, he felt like kick'n back else where. I love how he's worked his hat over to demonstrate what relaxing is supposed to look like.

And after a hard day of work, who doesn't want to catch a few Zzzzzs? Moments before this shot, he was "helping" us tame the wild grass of our lawn. Who needs a lawnmower? This kid was pulling it and eating it just as fast. At least until he started choking on it. Then, he was promptly relocated.

And this just demonstrates one of his newest and fondest sources of entertainment.

Oh! And while we're discussing his latest tricks, we've discovered that he can roll his tongue. This talent is supposed to be genetically linked. Any family members out there that can do this? Because Brian and I can't!
