This afternoon while the kids and I were playing in the backyard we took a look around to see what signs of spring we could find. We were pretty excited to find:
New shoots on our raspberry bushes
Our rhubarb growing strong
Buds on the trees
A tulip poking out of the soil
And children playing happily in the dirt
I just love this time of new life and rebirth; I can feel my soul being energized with each breath of springtime air I take in!
What signs of spring have you spotted?
I love this time of year too! Today we were out back before 9a.m. and I don't think the kids really came back in before 2pm, it was so great! Kalea got a bit of a mild sunburn on Sunday- she fell asleep on the deck soaking up the rays. I sat in the sun today and noticed my grass is turning way green! I also noticed that the big trees that line our street are starting to drop their dead nubs and new buds are poking through! Yay! It's so awesome to open up the windows and clean out the house and get out with the kids more.

ReplyDeleteI agree that there is just something about spring that energizes me. I love seeing the kids play outside again and the fact that there is no snow...aagghhh!! It's just so nice. I love having the windows open and the desire to spring clean...the clearing out just doesn't happen in the winter months like it does in the spring :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE spring. But I want to know - why are there tulips and daffodils growing all around the city, EXCEPT where I planted mine in my yard?????
