Occasionally I will come across someone who asks me how my mom is doing and I realize that some people never got an update from us about how she is doing. My mom had liver cancer and had half of her liver removed last February. It was a very difficult surgery and she had many complications which brought her back to the hospital on many occasions for more surgeries and procedures. It took 3 months of full time recovery before she was able to do anything. Since June she has been doing really well and has been back to working full time. She recently had a CT scan which showed that everything looks great. That was a huge relief. However, ironically she had a mamagram done a few weeks ago and her Dr. noticed some lumps that looked questionable. She had a biopsy last week and on Monday we found out that she has stage 1 breast cancer. CRAZY is all I have to say about that. Who would have ever thought that she would be diagnosed with 2 different cancers in one year? Luckily it is in stage 1 and she is always on top of her health and it was caught fast! She is meeting with a surgeon today and I am sure they will come up with a plan for surgery and radiation/chemo or whatever needs to be done. CRAZY! My mom is such a trooper and I am soooo glad she has my Dad, who has been right by her side through all of this.
Update on us:
The day has finally arrived that I have been dreading. It was only a few months ago that I would look at my cute little Lance's face and wonder if it were ever possible for him to hurt a fly. He has put up with an older brother clobbering him since the day he was born. He has been such a sweetheart. However, I knew the time would come that Lance would do something mean and I would have to tell him, "NO!" Well in the last few weeks Lance has decided he is not going to put up with being pushed around by an older brother anymore! If Liam does anything to bother Lance the teeth and the claws come out! All of a sudden my sweet Lance is a fighter. Yesterday Liam must have done something to him, I don't know, but all of a sudden Lance bit Liam really hard on his back and scratched his face. Liam was really hurt. I pulled Lance away and looked him straight in the face and said, "Lance, No, No, NO!" He did not like me telling him NO at all and he got the saddest look on his face and he started crying. So both of them were crying and I was about to start crying too because I miss my sweet innocent Lance. So it has become exponentially harder to keep the peace around here with Lance's biting, scratching and constant climbing on the tables, counters, chairs, whatever he can! AHHHHH! How can I keep from going insane? And when will he ever figure out that it hurts to fall? How many times does he have to fall off something and bonk his head before he will realize that he can't just walk right off the side of the table? Seriously!!
Well on a lighter note... We went to Grandpa Morrison's for some fun pear and peach pick'n. It was a blast. We got lots and lots of fruit which turned into lots and lots of jam. Yummy! I ran out of energy before I ran out of pears (because of such things as I mentioned in the last paragraph.) So maybe next year I will have it in me to make more.

We also went to the Utah State Fair! Yes the animals reeked and everything was extremely over-priced but it was a lot of fun! They had a really cute exibit for the kids where they were able to be farmers and do a bunch of chores that farmers do like plant a garden, ride a tractor, brush the sheep, and milk the cow. There was a fake cow and you could really milk it, it was hilarious! After all the hard work the kids earned a dollar and could buy something at the little store. Liam chose Root Beer Milk, a natural winner since he loves his milk and he loves his root beer.

My sister-in-law Holly took this picture of herself on my camera after the game while I was walking to the car. Bet you didn't think I would throw it on my blog - he he!
