First Applewhite Family Beach Trip 2013

 

This year was the first year that the Applewhite Family has taken a beach trip…actually its the Posey kids first time to the beach ever! 

We decided to go to Destin Florida.  My sister Lindsey did all the reservations for the condos and pretty much organized it all since they do a beach trip with her in-laws every year! The kids had a really good time… it rained the first day so I didn’t bring my camera and the second day the men went golfing and then we got the 2 jet ski's and took them out.  The kids had a lot of fun on them.  I on the other hand was starring into the waters looking for predators that I knew were there but never saw…thank goodness.  I have a huge fear of ocean water and all the dangers that they entail.  Maybe that's why this is our kids’ first time at the ocean!  This little guy was pretty happy.  Look at that big smile!I sadly don’t have any pictures of my older 2 children.  They were on the jet ski's i guess. 

We did loose Grayson once and my heart literally went to my feet as I feared the worse.  I made my older 2 wear the puddle jumpers when they went into the water just because they have never been to the ocean and had never experienced waves and I didn’t want them to drown even though they are great swimmers!  Grayson had taken his off and I couldn’t find him and I was seriously freaking out!  I was looking in the water again fearing the worse and very selfishly thinking “no not my baby, why my baby”!  it was only a short time but seemed like forever that Jeff, my brother-in-law, saw him down the beach line a little bit with another kid!  When I knew he was ok I wanted to beat his tail!  He scared me so bad! 

 

 Emma had the most fun playing in the sand.  The 2nd day we found a little tidal pool that was perfect for the little ones.  She was so tired the 2nd day so she and I got in the raft(red/blue thing in pic) and went out into the water with all the other kids.  She fell asleep as it was very relaxing just floating and making sure the other kids were by us keeping us from going out too deep

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I think we all enjoyed ourselves and spending time together as a family was nice and only a couple of raw moments happened but blew over! 

Florida is a beautiful place!  I enjoyed my time here at the beach with my family.  i just wish that the ocean was a safe place for families to relax and not worry about crazy things happening.  Maybe I’m the only one that fears those things!  The sunsets were amazing.  We only stayed 3 nights but it seemed sufficient for our family. The kids had a great time together!

Summer Picture overload!!

We had a lot of summer activities!  We went to the university pool a ton!!  These are some of our great friends that live in our neighborhood.

We went to Mississippi a few times and visited with our family there and we also did a ton of corn from dad’s garden..I think we did around 1200 ears of corn this year.  The garden did really well.

  we went to the Children's Hands on Museum a few times since we are members.  The kids really love it and they have a lot of fun.  Its also great when its too hot outside. 

We had lots   of dirty faces and sleepy babies.  We played with our neighbors daughter and swam in there pool a few times too.

Emma gave lots of kisses and had lots of bad hair days.  We had slumber parties with our cousins that will be moving in November!  :(

   We went to the Audubon Aquarium in New Orleans with my brother and his family.  Emma was quiet the grouchy little one the whole time but we survived.

 

Clay built a few things this summer.  He built this awesome console table that I love!!  We redid our mantle and finally got our family picture that Andrea took before we left Arkansas.

   We played at the neighborhood park with friends and had many tantrums.  We had a ton of fun with our wonderful family!

Clay’s mom and sister and her family came to visit us this summer!

The kids had a great time playing and spending time together.  Clay took the older 4 and took them to the University Pool all by himself.  Ann was a bit nervous but Clay had it in the bag!  He is a great dad and uncle!  The girl cousins!  Kennedy and Mackenzie are almost exactly one year apart.  Its hard to get a good picture when there is a little one involved! While the kids were at the pool we went out for Dairy Queen ice cream.  As I was getting in my mother-in-laws car I completely left my wallet and keys on the grass by the sidewalk but thanks to a safe and honest neighborhood it was still there when we got back!  I wasn’t really worried because I felt like it would be there anyway! I just can’t get enough of this sweet little cutie!  She is just the apple of my eye! Here are the boy cousins all together.  Jackson wasn’t wanting to have his picture taken.  Look at that handsome tan boy of mine!

Clay’s pre-birthday project and our 2 birthday kiddos!

 

 Clay has been wanting to build an outside bar on our back porch so this is what he designed and built!  Its very functional and I love it!

Kennedy and Grayson’s birthdays are a week apart so we normally celebrate them together.  This day was Grayson’s actual birthday so we went out for McDonalds for breakfast.(his choice)

This boy has an infectious smile and beautiful eyes!  These are my most favorite physical features.  We of course had a cupcake for him on his actual birthday! 

Then we had the Rainbow birthday party with lots of colors

We had all the colors in the rainbow with a fun fruit tray, we had a dum-dum ball, we had rainbow colored cupcakes and we had a table set up with skittles, m&Ms, gummy bears, gummy worms, gum balls, Jelly beans and we had gold fish and animal cookies and yummy white chocolate pretzels with rainbow sprinkles.  I had a lot of fun doing this party even though it took a lot of time and baking!

We obviously had a birthday banner(you can’t see it very well).  The birthday girl wanted some curls for her birthday. 

These two don’t get along very well but they are both blessings to our family!  The both can be very sweet and loving and normally when they are not together they do think of each other.  I love these two little munchkins!
