Border Policeman Rami Zohari, 20, was killed and a policewoman was seriously wounded in a terror shooting attack Thursday night at the northern entrance to Shoafat, north of Jerusalem. Two Palestinian terrorists had approached on foot, fired at the Israelis, and fled the scene. Fatah's Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack. (Ynet News)

Palestinian Terrorists Infiltrate West Bank High School, Wound Three - Amos Harel, Yuval Azoulay, and Yair Ettinger
Two Palestinians armed with knives and a pistol infiltrated the Mekor Haim yeshiva high school in Kfar Etzion, not far from Jerusalem. They entered a library and attacked the students and their counselors, who fought back. During the battle, one student was moderately wounded and two of the counselors were lightly wounded. One of the counselors grabbed the pistol from the terrorist and shot the intruders, killing them both. Witnesses said the terrorists were wearing uniforms of soldiers or security guards. (Ha'aretz)

The IDF and Shin Bet uncovered 6.5 tons of potassium nitrate hidden in sacks that were disguised as aid from the European Union, the army announced on Saturday.

Security forces discovered the stash in the cargo of a Palestinian truck at a West Bank checkpoint earlier in December. According to the IDF, the material, hidden in sugar sacks, was planned to be used by terrorists in the Gaza Strip.

"Potassium Nitrate is a banned substance in the Gaza Strip and the Judea and Samaria region due to its use by terrorists for the manufacturing of explosives and Kassam rockets," the IDF spokesperson wrote in a statement.

"This is another example of how the terror organizations exploit the humanitarian aid that is delivered to the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip with Israel's approval," the statement read.

A 27-year old Palestinian Arab was mercilessly shot in the back at a West Bank checkpoint by the trigger-happy soldiers there.

This checkpoint, like countless others, limits the movement of innocent Palestinians and causes untold misery among the population as they have to humiliated as they pass through.

Of course, since this checkpoint was built and manned by Palestinian Arabs in Qalqiya, this incident will go largely unreported; no "human rights" organizations will count this incident as evidence of oppression, and no left-wing Israelis or Europeans will dare go to monitor the activities there.

Israel will begin dismantling some West Bank checkpoints and roadblocks next week, the Palestinian Authority president told Palestinians on Tuesday.

Speaking to Voice of Palestine radio the day after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in Jericho, Mahmoud Abbas told Palestinians their daily lives soon will improve. Abbas also said that expanded cooperation between the Palestinian Authority and Israel will expedite talks aimed at establishing a Palestinian state.

"We can evaluate the results after two more meetings,” Abbas said. Olmert and Abbas are due to hold a Washington summit with U.S. President George W. Bush in November.
