ANTI-SEMITIC CARTOONS IN PALI MEDIA

Anti-Semitic Palestinian Cartoons Appear Regularly - (Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center)

Coarse anti-Semitic cartoons drawn by Palestinian cartoonist Alaa' Allaqta appear regularly in Hamas' newspaper,Felesteen, on the Palestinian Islamic Jihad website, and in Saudi Arabian and Qatari newspapers. His cartoons, which recycle anti-Semitic motifs, have recently been part of a propaganda campaign against the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations and the upcoming Annapolis meeting.

RICE TAPS CARTER, CLINTON FOR PEACE ADVICE

Rice taps Clinton, Carter for Middle East advice (Reuters)
Anxious not to repeat mistakes of past Middle East peace-making, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has turned to former presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter for tips ahead of her own conference this year.

Rice invited Carter, a vocal critic of Bush administration policies, to the State Department on Wednesday where the two discussed his Arab-Israeli peacemaking efforts in the 1970s, State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said on Friday.

Their talks were "good and cordial," he said. They focused on the Middle East and not Carter's recent criticism of President George W. Bush's policies in Iraq and elsewhere.

A Soviet specialist, Rice also telephoned another former Democratic president, Bill Clinton, who tried, and ultimately failed, in his eight years in office to bring the Israelis and Palestinians together.

IN RELATED NEWS, TED TURNER AND KOFI ANNAN HAVE ARRIVED IN ISRAEL READY TO "HELP" WITH THE PEACE EFFORTS.

'We've come here to see if we can help'
- Ted Turner - Ted Turner (JPOST)
Less than a week after announcing that Kofi Annan, the former secretary-general of the United Nations, joined its board of directors, the United Nations Foundation has sent a high-level delegation to Israel and Jordan.

The delegation arrived in Israel at 6 a.m. on Sunday and held meetings with President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and other prominent figures.

Heading the delegation were its chairman, Ted Turner, the founder of the CNN Cable News Network, and Annan.

The UN Foundation tries to build public-private partnerships that address the world's most pressing problems.

"We've come here to see if we can help," said Turner.

"We are here to listen and to see what is going on in the region," Annan told Peres. "Peace is of great concern to all of us."

P.A. NEWSPAPER: "ALLAH, KILL AMERICANS"

Palestinians: Allah, Kill Americans by Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook (PMW)
The Palestinian Authority (Fatah) daily newspaper’s political cartoon today illustrated a prayer for the killing of Americans. A Muslim is shown kneeling in prayer facing a US B-2 Stealth Bomber. The words of his prayer are encased in missiles aimed at Americans:

"Allah, scatter them!”
“And turn their wives into widows!”
“And turn their children into orphans!”
“And give us victory over them!”

This curse for the death of Americans is a special prayer for Al-Qadr Night (the 27 th day of Ramadan, noted in the corner of the cartoon), when Muslims customarily pray in mosques throughout the night.

This continues the identification by the PA and Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah faction with those who fight and kill Americans. The most recently published 12 th grade PA schoolbooks, for example, call those who fight American soldiers in Iraq "brave resistance.”

I THINK I'M GOING TO STOP READING "DILBERT"

HERE'S SOME ISRAEL-HATE AND AHMADINEJAD-LOVE FROM THE "HUMORIST" WHO WRITES THE COMIC STRIP, "DILBERT."

PLEASE EXCUSE THE PROFANITY. IT'S MR. ADAMS'.

The Dilbert Blog: A Feeling I’m Being Had (Scott Adams) (Hat tip: LGF)
I was happy to hear that NYC didn’t allow Iranian President Ahmadinejad to place a wreath at the WTC site. And I was happy that Columbia University is rescinding the offer to let him speak. If you let a guy like that express his views, before long the entire world will want freedom of speech.

I hate Ahmadinejad for all the same reasons you do. For one thing, he said he wants to “wipe Israel off the map.” Scholars tell us the correct translation is more along the lines of wanting a change in Israel’s government toward something more democratic, with less gerrymandering. What an ass-muncher!

Ahmadinejad also called the holocaust a “myth.” F*ck him! A myth is something a society uses to frame their understanding of their world, and act accordingly. It’s not as if the world created a whole new country because of holocaust guilt and gives it a free pass no matter what it does. That’s Iranian crazy talk. Ahmadinejad can blow me.

Most insulting is the fact that “myth” implies the holocaust didn’t happen. F*ck him for saying that! He also says he won’t dispute the historical claims of European scientists. That is obviously the opposite of saying the holocaust didn’t happen, which I assume is his way of confusing me. God-damned f*cker.

P.A. CELEBRATES 9/11

Palestinian Authority celebrates 9-11 terror attacks (PMW)
The Palestinian Authority continues a long tradition of celebrating the 2001 World Trade Center terror attacks by publishing cartoons in its official daily that glorify Osama Bin Laden and the attacks, or mock the suffering of the U.S. This year's cartoon shows Bin Laden smiling while making the “V” for victory sign with two fingers in the shape of the burning Twin Towers. The PA daily that published the cartoon, Al Hayat Al Jadida, is owned by the PA and controlled by the office of Mahmoud Abbas. The only text on this cartoon is "Exclusive to Al Hayat Al Jadida," which means it was prepared specifically for the official Palestinian Authority daily.

The Palestinian Authority has a long history of celebrating the 9-11 terror. The world was shocked by televised scenes of Palestinians celebrating the attacks in the streets the day they took place. A December 2005 poll found that "65% of Palestinians support(ed) Al Qaeda actions in the USA and Europe.” (Fafo – Institute for Applied International Studies – Norway. Survey Dec. 22, 2005).

REMEMBER 2

Tuesday Morning (Cox & Forkum)

07.09.10.TuesdayMorning-X.gif

In the excellent book Never Forget: An Oral History of September 11, 2001 , authors Mitchell Fink and Lois Mathias collected stories from eyewitnesses. Here's an excerpt from what David Kravette, a Cantor Fitzgerald broker, told the authors about his experience at the World Trade Center:

On the morning of September 11, I was on floor 105, tower 1. I had an 8 a.m. meeting set up with a client. He was bringing by some tech people to do some due diligence on our technology company called E-Speed. I get to work usually around seven, seven-fifteen. At eight, the client called to tell me they were running late. And I said fine. But I reminded him to bring photo ID downstairs. Ever since the last terrorist attack in '93, the building requires photo ID downstairs. He's been there before, so he knew the drill. He said, "Fine. No problem."

At 8:40, I get a phone call from the security desk downstairs, asking me if I'm expecting visitors. I said yes. "Well, they're here," they said. "But one of them forgot their ID."

I'm 105 flights up. The commute to get downstairs takes about five minutes, especially around that time. So I'm annoyed, obviously, because I have to go down now to sign these people in after I just told them to bring ID. I look at this desk assistant across from me, thinking maybe she'll help out and go down, but she's on the phone. She's also about eight months pregnant. She's a few weeks from maternity leave and she's on the phone talking to a friend and she's on a website looking at bassinets and cribs. A very nice girl expecting her first child. So how lazy am I? I decide to go myself. ...

... I take these two elevator rides down. I take the elevator from 105 to 78, change, and take the express down to the ground. I got down to the lobby. Our elevator banks actually face the visitors' gallery. And I started walking over to the visitors' gallery, I'd say it's about thirty yards, and they're standing there waiting for me. And I remember yelling, "Which one of you knuckleheads forgot your ID?"

And as I say this, you hear this really loud screeching sound. I turn around and it's kind of coming from the elevators. So I run away from it, like ten steps, and look back. And the elevators are free-falling. Then, from the middle elevator bank, not the one I came down on, but from the middle one, a huge fireball explodes in the lobby. This huge fireball is coming right toward me. People got incinerated. And I remember just looking at this thing, not feeling scared, but just sad because I knew I was going to die. But as quickly as it came toward me, it actually sucked back in on itself, and it was gone. It left a lot of smoke and everything was blown out, all the glass and revolving doors leading into the shopping area. All I felt was a big wave of heat come over me, like when you put your face too close to a fireplace. My customer and my general counsel and I just ran out. The three of us ran over the overpass to where the Financial Center is. We went down to where the marina is, where the yachts are. And that's when we found out what happened, that a plane had hit the building.

I looked up and saw this big gaping hole. I said, "What's that falling out of the window?"

My general counsel looks at me like I'm nuts. And he says, "That's people jumping out." ...

Cantor Fitzgerald had four floors in the North Tower -- 101, 103, 104, and 105. Nobody got out on those floors. Everyone who was upstairs perished. There were a lot of phone calls to wives and husbands at around nine o'clock saying good-bye, as though they knew they were going to die.

UPDATE: THE "PEACE" SCARF

This past weekend, the 9/11 conspiratists held a concert/event/march/rally in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. Needless to say, Kaffiyehs were in fashion among the young and ignorant/hateful. Zombie was there and has pictures (and here).

SEE ALSO: The "Peace" Scarf (Red Planet)

From Little Green Footballs :

Urban Outfitters called their version an “anti-war scarf.” UK clothing store ARK was a little more honest; they called it an “Arafat scarf.” When Kirsten Dunst showed up with one in Teen Vogue magazine, they called it a “breezy global-chic scarf.”

Delias.com called it a “peace scarf,” but when people protested they changed the name to “Euro scarf.” Now the symbol of Palestinian terrorism and murder, the
kaffiyeh, is being marketed at yet another store for young people, Alloy, this time as a “Riviera scarf.”

From Wikipedia, the symbolism of the keffiyeh:
In the 1930s, the keffiyeh became a symbol of Palestinian nationalism as a result of its association with rural areas (as opposed to the city-dweller’s fez).

The keffiyeh would later become a trademark symbol of Yasser Arafat, who was rarely seen without his peculiarly arranged black-and-white scarf…

Another Palestinian figure associated with the keffiyeh is Leila Khaled, a female member of the armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. Several photographs of Khaled circulated in the Western newspapers after the hijacking of TWA Flight 840 and the Dawson’s Field hijackings. These often included Khaled wearing a keffiyeh in the style of a Muslim woman’s hijab, wrapped around the head and shoulders. This was unusual, as the keffiyeh is associated with Arab masculinity, and many believe this to be something of a fashion statement by Khaled, denoting her equality with men in the Palestinian armed struggle. The use of the keffiyeh as a hijab remains very uncommon, and to the extent it exists, it must be assumed to be a personal political statement.

AHMADINEJAD: THE JEWS DID IT!

Ahmadinejad claims 'Zionists' behind Swedish cartoon (The Local - Sweden)
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said that "Zionists" were behind a cartoon in Swedish newspaper Nerikes Allehanda, which depicted the head of the Prophet Mohammed on a dog's body. The drawing sparked an official protest by Tehran to Stockholm.

"They do not want the Swedish government to be a friend of other nations. I strongly believe they are behind it (the cartoon). They thrive on conflict and war," he said.

The claim came during a tirade against Israel, in which Ahmadineja accused Zionists of sowing conflict, publishing offensive cartoons and "lying about being Jewish."

"Zionists are people without any religion," Ahmadinejad, who has repeatedly predicted that Israel is doomed to disappear, told a news conference in Tehran.

"They are lying about being Jewish because religion means brotherhood, friendship and respecting other divine religions," he said.

"They are an organised minority who have infiltrated the world. They are not even a 10,000-strong organisation," he said.

"Anywhere they are found there is war. Anywhere where there is war they are behind it," Ahmadinejad added.

Echoing his previous predictions about Israel's future, the president said:

"If the world is calm, people, Europeans, Germans even, will uproot them."

Iran's foreign ministry on Monday summoned a Swedish diplomat to protest against the cartoon in Nerikes Allehanda, an Örebro-based regional newspaper .

The leader writer behind the editorial accompanied by the cartoon in question on Tuesday defended his piece.

"The right to caricature a religion and the right to practice a religion are connected," Lars Ströman told The Local. Meanwhile, he has received support from the Swedish Association of Newspaper Publishers, which said it was important to defend the publication of controversial work.

Iran's government denies charges of anti-Semitism, pointing to the peaceful existence in Iran of a 20,000-strong Jewish community, the largest in the Middle East outside Israel.

The Swedish newspaper that published artist Lars Vilks’ sketches of Mohammed is refusing to apologize to the world’s 39.7 gazillion seething Muslims.

A leading Swedish newspaper on Saturday said the country would not apologize for the recent publication of a Prophet Mohammed cartoon which has inflamed devout Muslims around the world.

Dagens Nyheter said in an editorial Sweden “has a duty from now on to defend its principles and present an open dialogue.” It said offended Muslims would not receive the apologies they are asking for.

Swedish newspaper Nerikes Allehanda published a cartoon on August 18 depicting the Prophet Mohammed as a dog to illustrate an editorial on self-censorship and freedom of expression and religion.

The Kabul Times, a religious Afghani newspaper, published Saturday an article by religious leaders expressing their indignation at this “provocation”, according to Swedish press agency TT.

The publication of the cartoon has prompted angry reactions from Iran and Pakistan, which have both summoned Swedish diplomats to protest. The 57-nation Organisation of the Islamic Conference has also condemned the publication and urged the Swedish government to punish the artist and the publisher and demand an apology.

But Lars Vilks, the Swedish cartoonist in question, said he had no intention to apologise. “You must be allowed to criticise religion, but I am not opposed to Islam,” he told Danish agency Ritzau. He had, in the past, also drawn a “Jewish sow”, Vilks said.

He also said he had received death threats.

Svenska Dagbladet, another broadsheet, said Sweden was now in a situation “which could escalate and slip away from Swedish control”.

FATAH, HAMAS HOLDING SECRET RECONCILIATION TALKS

Fatah, Hamas Holding Reconciliation Talks - Khaled Abu Toameh (Jerusalem Post)
Fatah and Hamas officials said Tuesday they are conducting secret talks, after PA Chairman Abbas told Prime Minister Olmert during their meeting in Jericho on Monday that he had no plans to talk to Hamas. Hamas Prime Minister Haniyeh said Tuesday, "There are attempts to open channels of communication between the two sides."
According to one official, the talks were being held in the West Bank, Beirut, Cairo and Damascus, as well as a number of Gulf capitals. "It's premature to talk about a breakthrough, but at least we are talking again," the official said. Sources in the Prime Minister's Office said Tuesday that Israel strongly opposed a renewal of negotiations that would lead to another Palestinian unity government, and that Israel would cut off contact with a PA government that included Hamas.

CARTOONS: DON'T CALL THEM MUSLIMS

New British PM Gordon Brown has banned ministers from using the word “Muslim” in connection with terrorism. Wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Besides, as everyone knows most terrorists are Buddists and Nepalese.

All Muslims are NOT terrorists. But many terrorists are Muslims. And many Muslims terrorists are terrorists, they admit, because they view it as the fulfillment of their Muslim faith.

CARTOON RE JERUSALEM

This cartoon, done in March of 1976, was in response to a statement by William Scranton (the U.S. Ambassador to the UN in 1976) . Today being Tisha Be'Av, [DryBones] thought it was appropriate to trot out the simple facts about the history of the foreign occupation of our eternal Holy City (which lasted until 1967).

DARFUR: ARABS STEAL LAND OF THE DEAD

DARFUR: Arabs Steal land of the Dead (Atlas Shrugs)

Unsudan_2

Islamic jihad slaughtered hundreds of thousands of Christians, moderate Muslims and now the Arabs are "occupying' the dead men's lands. Think about that.

Arabs pile into Darfur to take land 'cleansed' by janjaweed The Independent

Arabs from Chad and Niger are crossing into Darfur in "unprecedented" numbers, prompting claims that the Sudanese government is trying systematically to repopulate the war- ravaged region.

An internal UN report, obtained by The Independent, shows that up to 30,000 Arabs have crossed the border in the past two months. Most arrived with all their belongings and large flocks. They were greeted by Sudanese Arabs who took them to empty villages cleared by government and janjaweed forces.

One UN official said the process "appeared to have been well planned". The official continued: "This movement is very large. We have not seen such numbers come into west Darfur before."

The UN refugee agency, UNHCR, sent a team to the border with Chad at the end of May to interview the new arrivals. Fighting in eastern Chad has been steadily increasing and it was thought that many could be refugees. But only a very small number have required support from UNHCR.

"Most have been relocated by Sudanese Arabs to former villages of IDPs (internally displaced people) and more or less invited to stay there," said the UN official.

The arrivals have been issued with official Sudanese identity cards and awarded citizenship, and analysts say that by encouraging Arabs from Chad, Niger and other parts of Sudan to move to Darfur the Sudanese government is making it "virtually impossible" for displaced people to return home.

ANTI-SEMITIC CARTOONS IN ARAB AND IRANIAN PRESS

Antisemitic Cartoons in the Arab and Iranian Press By O. Winter (MEMRI)
Among the cartoons published in the Arab and Iranian press are cartoons of antisemitic character. These contain a number of recurring themes: they often represent the Jews as long-nosed characters of ultra-orthodox appearance, as the killers of Christ, as serpents or as Nazi soldiers. In addition, Jews are portrayed as having pervasive control and power, and as conspirators and instigators of wars, who are out to rule the world.

The following is a sample of cartoons from the last few months depicting Jews as the killers of Jesus, plunderers of resources, taking over the world, warmongers, and Nazis click here: http://memri.org/bin/latestnews.cgi?ID=IA36807
