What it is like being a mother of TWINS and a TODDLER all under the age of TWO!

There are so many things that make having twins a challenge...

I think the hardest part is that there always is someone to feed, someone to play with, someone to change, someone that needs rocking, or talking to... it never ends and while you try to do EVERYTHING you can you just still feel like a horrible Mother (and that is just trying to care for two!). Then on the other end you have this toddler that has SOOOO MUCH energy and just wants you to play at every MINUTE of the day. You just feel like you can never do it all perfect. For instance, Brooke is always so good and I always neglect her and tend to hold Rhead more since he just always needs more attention. So while I am holding him, nursing him, rocking him, talking to him I feel SO guilty that Brooke just has to sit there staring at the ceiling. I LOVE having a little girl and sometimes I just wish I could play with her ALL day and just have that time for me and her. But then I LOVE holding Rhead and I love seeing all the cute faces he makes and hearing him talk to me. AND then it is hard because while I LOVE holding a baby I also love going on walks with Carden and watching him learn to pedal his bike or see how fast he can push his truck! There are just so many to love and its hard because you just feel like your not giving enough...

the kids

Brooke and Carden love to read books together. Brooke is quite the little talker. She laughs when I make her dance to music.
Rhead is Mr. Observant. He notices when I have a rubber band on my hand or when his shirt goes over his hands. He loves to talk as well and hold onto this Chick Fillet Cow!

What I WISH I had...

Valco Tri Mode Stroller with Toddler seat!
Sometimes I just wish...
Would life be easier?? Maybe. Then maybe Carden would be happy since he always is without a seat on our walks.

A mother I met said her life was wonderful since she could put all her three kids in a stroller! Wow, that would be wonderful, especially since that is all WE like to do is go on walks.

4 Months!

Brooke doing the Irish jig in her guilles!!

We have made it to the FOUR month mark!!! Wow, it has been quite the adventure. I now look at motherhood with a whole new perspective (as a mother going from one child to THREE in less than two years!) I can't even explain what it is like to raise twins. It is just a lot LOT of work! Brooke and Rhead are really good babies though. It is really weird because I remember after Carden was born thinking that all "Mommies" are SOOOO AMAZING! I mean "Mother's Day" had a whole new respect. I just am BLOWN away at what a Mommy really does. All mother's are just AMAZING to me! As you become a mother you realize all the WORK that your Mommies have gone through to get you to where you are. I am only to the two year mark with Carden and still can't believe how much I feel like I have grown and I still have so many years to go! It is quite exciting to think how much growing I will be doing in the years to come. But anyways I don't know if any of that made sense. I just appreciate all MOMMIES (and can now even connect with all mommies of MULTIPLES, what a different life they live!)

Anyways Brooke and Rhead and their FOUR month mark!

Brooke Weight: 12.7lbs (25th percentile),
Height: 25"(75th percentile)
Head: 40.6cm (35th percentile)

Rhead Weight: 14.2 lbs (35th percentile)
Height: 26.5" (90th percentile)
Head: 42.9cm (70th Percentile)

So they are TALL and have LARGE heads!! Their weight is doing well but is just low. We started the rice cereal and it didn't go so well but I guess I will keep it going so that they will start to like it. Nursing is going well. Rhead loves his bottles and Brooke loves to nurse. Both nurse. Both love to smile especially Rhead. He can laugh and laugh. Brooke is more serious. They both roll over front to back and are almost making the roll from back to front with just some help! They are quite coordinated, Rhead especially. He loves to hold things and he has GREAT cross-lateral connection. He is going to be walking before he CRAWLS!! Brooke loves to pinch me while she nurses. She has quite the grip. They have strong necks (and I guess you would have to have a strong neck holding up THOSE HEADS!).

Anyways we had a GREAT St. Patrick's Day. I did a JIG for Carden and we played Irish music all day long on Pandora.com. Boy am I out of SHAPE. I can't believe how hard it was to do the JIG! Carden loved it. We were prancing around the house doing leap 23's!!! haa haa. I also made some SPLIT pea soup to celebrate!! Well I better go to bed. Goodnight.

love it

So I am obsessed with the colors GREEN and ORANGE!! Maybe because those were our wedding colors and I love remembering that WONDERFUL day!
I love Rhead's little face. His new thing is sucking on his bottom lip!

How do YOU get a GOOD haircut?

Justin always says, "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!" but sadly I am disappointed in this saying because I did end up spending more than i would like for a hair cut which ended up being the WORST haircut I have ever seen.

I tried to be so clear in what I wanted. I told the salon lady that the SHORTEST PIECE of hair was supposed to be BELOW the EAR lobe and GUESS WHAT?? The shortest piece is ABOVE THE EAR!!!!!! I look like a boy. It is so sad. I just don't get salon/stylist people. I took a picture with a lot of layers and that is probably where I went wrong. She made so many short chunky layers that seriously it is sooo scary to look at!

How do you get a good cut? I don't know maybe I just need to go in and say do whatever will make me look cute because I seriously feel sooooo manly right now. I really am picky when it comes to a good hair cut. I like it when they texturize but not to the POINT where you FEEL BALD!!! I still don't get how they even to this to me. Don't they understand that HAIR, FULL VOLUME hair is GOOD sooo why do they ALWAYS make my hair sooooo flat???? I really am sick about that whole thing. I SHOULD cut hair. I really should. I think I would know how to make someone look good instead of butchering their FINE looking hair. But anyways I am curious in how others go about getting A GOOD CUT. I am just sick of paying GOOD money for cuts that just DON'T work!

As for what the hair looks like, well I am still embarrassed to even post a picture of my hair. It is scary, but I'm just glad that Justin can even KISS me!!

argentine cooking

milanesa! (really thin, breaded steak covered in mayo and lemon juice, with mashed potatoes and a tomato/onion/parsley salad...mmm!)

homemade gnocchis! these are extremely time-consuming to make but well worth it. gnocchi's are a dumpling-like pasta made with flour and potato. they can be served with all sorts of pasta sauces and soups. this is a bacon/red onion/garlic/mushroom/parsley sauce.

close-up's with rhead!

we'll have to get some of brooke up here, but rhead just has all these great faces. he is also the stiffest kid i've ever seen. the last picture is how he looks when we lay him on the floor. he tightens up like crazy and arches his back, and actually scoots across the floor! it's hilarious.

Sunday

Sunday was Stake Conference and Rhead and Brooke were so good. Rhead actually slept through the whole meeting. I only had to nurse Brooke once. Rhead is wearing Carden's blessing outfit. Isn't it cute on him? It was so fun dressing Brooke for church. This is HER first DRESS she has worn to church. I just love the colors!!!
After church the Glenns came over and we took a little stroll along the river. It was so beautiful. I do love living next to the river, which is why I am just SOOOO EXCITED for my jogging stroller to come!!! I NEED those long walks on the river to get me going for the day!

The BOYS!
Our little (BIG) family!
