Week one... the first 168 hours

Friday August 8th, 2008! As the Olympics begin their opening ceremonies we take a look back at some of this week's highlights. It has been hour by hour excitement as crying, feeding, burping, and exhaustion have taken their toll. Here is this week in pictures.

Grandma is here helping us rookies out. Tanner lover his Grandma.

You might remember this look from last week. Can you see the changes?

This is a rare case of Mom and Tanner asleep at the same time. He looks like an angel.

This is Tanner's first river walk. This stroller is amazing! It practically pushes itself.

Tanner is trying to figure out what to do with his hands this week. Sometimes he puts them in his mouth.

Sometimes he gets frustrated and puts them on his head, however, this could also be the first of proof of T practicing his dance moves.

He has also been caught thinking about all the fun things he will do when he wakes up. You can wear yourself out with all of the deep thoughts.

One down... six to go... ok... maybe 3...

Wednesday July 30th, 2008 will be a day never forgotten. At least for M and I. It all started at 3:40 in the AM, and didn't end unitil... well I don't think it is going to end anytime soon. By 5:42pm our lives had changed forever as Tanner joined our little family. Here are a couple photos of the last few days.

Can you see the pain? It was all worth it.

Moments after birth and nurses and doctors are already calling him "perfect".

3300 grams of Koons = 7 pounds 4 oz. of man

Mom and Tanner happy that all the commotion is over.

By this time our doctor was heading for home. He was happy he only needed to be there for 45 minutes. The total labor time from contractions to birth was 15 hours. However the total delivery time was a little under 25 minutes. This girl packs a punch in every push.

War wounds from nurse #1. I think she was so embarrassed that she sent Katie to take care of us. We were much happier with nurse Katie anyway.

His first bath at home. No tears!!

DT just chillin' with grandma.

Thanks Koons's, Miller's, and Brawner's!!! They smell great!! M and I are so humbled by the new addition to our family. He has been so good to us, only keeping us up most of the night. He is happy and healthy and all ours. He is very loved.
